Well I thought it was Scorpion, because black would really make a good alt. for him. Now I think it is Noob for several reasons.

1. The eyes remind me of Noob's from previous games.

2. Why would they make Smoke wear black ninja clothes that look like a cross between Noob Saibot and Scorpion's attire?

3. There is a picture of him in battle, and he looks much more like a Noob than a Smoke there.

Listen, the game might be early in production and they might not of added Smoke's grey vest. I think its definitly Smoke.

I haven't seen any of the pics, so I can't really say much. But I would bet my left nut at this point that they're both very much in the game.

On the first page of the article (for the german PSM), there's a small picture with a black ninja fighting baraca. THis ninja is the same one that has appeared in these forums with the light skin and dark costume. The caption reads:

'Smoke versetzt baraka einen tritt unter die kinnlade. Das im glas eingeschlossene schwert kann im kampf benutzt werden.'

Translated, that comes out to say:

'Smoke transferred baraka one steps under the jaw. the sword enclosed in the glass can be used in the fight.'

Smoke is definitly in this game. And so is Noob (there's a pic of him too).

in the picture the man isn't smoking so how would it be smoke? and also he has no robotics on him like cyrax did in DA.

Smoke's myst may only be seen in his moves for all we know. Also, like Sub's scar, his mist isn't absolutely essential.

But more importantly, Smoke could just as easily be human and not cyborg.

OmG another damn ninja in the game, come on now. This is the 5th 1 in a list of 24 chars. I think this should be the last of em.

IMO it is noob. Because I have thought way back in those palettte swappin dayz that scorpions mask would look good on noob if they were to have all the ninjas in 1 game but unique outfits.

The eyes which is light blue is also noob's.

Smoke is gray and noob is black(outfits)

If the gonna have old outfits for a new character's look, subs MKDA would be good for smoke if it is gray.

With the human-like eyes and skin, it does seem more like smoke to me. But didnt one of the members with reliable sources already confirm that its noob? Anyway, smoke will be in MKD as well.

If that is Smoke ( which I highly doubt) he is a Noob Saibot palette swamp.

Well, I finally saw the pics. I think it could be either/or, but I'm going to place my money on Noob. I'd imagine Smoke will have a completely revamped look.

They are BOTH in the game. There's no either or, and the man in the picture is Smoke. His skin isn't that of Noob's and his eyes are that of a dead man's. Remember, the last time you saw this guy, he was alive. By now his eyes would be the same as Scorpion's or Noob's.

And, even if it isn't as reliable as America's version (rolls eyes), the German PSM article states that the man in the picture's name is either SMOKE or BARAKA. And I'm pretty sure it isn't Baraka.

The german magazine has already proven to be partially not credible(although mostly accurate). But seriously, who's skin was what or who was previously alive makes no difference. It's like saying that can't be Smoke because he isn't a cyber ninja, since that was his previous form. If you think that's Smoke, fine. But I doubt it is. Let's wait and see because we both have no hardcore proof.

EDIT: I think this post came off harsher than I intended it to. If so, I apologize. It could be Smoke, but I just don't think so.

i think it is reptiles old ninja form because the mask markings look like teeth,and it could be his alt.(if he's in the game)plus the eyes kinda look reptilian,then again it could be smokes alt? we'll most likly find out at E3!

How many times has this stupid question been asked? It is Noob Saibot. The costume is exactly the same has his regular one except he's not all black. You must remember these pictures were taken before the shots of Noob in all black. Read the main page where Midway states these pictures were early production shots. Anyways, it's Noob and I know for a fact. Ask Konqrr, I'm sure he'll agree with me.

Besides, Kel-X and Konqrr really know their shit...Everything I've heard them "prophecize" has been true.

Yeah its Noob. Take a look the pic of him kicking Ermac in his "other" outfit. Its EXACTLY the same but everything has been recolored glossy black. As Kel-X said the german mag pics must have from an early version of Noob that was recolored. Boon and Co were probably toying with the idea to make him flesh tone, but decided to switch him back. Good move, IMO. There's too many "white" ninjas as it is.

It could be either. Cases can be made for both people.

I personally don't think Smoke has been confirmed. It looks as if he may be in, but we'll have to wait and see. BTW, it is Noob.

1. The same Ninja was kicking Ermac back ages ago. It was confirmed as Noob.

2. The colour grey was probably added as the only colour that compliments black. Having Noob all black would look fairly stupid they needed different shades, so he didn't look like a splodge of black paint on the screen.

3. It would be flatout stupid to have an almost completely black clad ninja in the game and call him Noob Saibot, and have an almost completely black ninja in the game and call him Smoke.

I found a website and it showed the picture of the ninja and it shows his face up close, and he does have pupils...

In the magazine is writte it is smoke. he looks like smoke. who still doubts that it is smoke is just dreaming

i also noticed this...honestly i hope they are 2 different costumes cause i think it looks better without all the black. its so hard to make outthe picture of him kicking ermac, but in the scans its so easy to see him kicking baraka with the normal skin. i think it looks better.
