I prefer the original MK build for the fighters. Sub-Zero and Scorpian in MK:DA are build like bricks. The 2D MK's weren't as good as MK:DA at all, but the characters like Scorpian has a Ninja look about them. In MK:DA they look more like body builders!!

What difference does it make how muscualar they are? Just as long as they're in the game... be happy!

Well Scorpion did become more powerful because of the power of the Netherealm. Sub-Zero became more powerful because of the Dragon Medallion. So those are reasons enough as to why they are more muscular.

I would think that the power from the Netherealm or the medallion would manifest itself in their chi, not their testosterone.

yeah, i thought they were to big also. i would like them to be as big as they were in mk2 or 3. and change the muscle tone for everybody, it seems as though some guys had the same kind of packs, biceps etc. but the graphics were pretty good, just improve some textures and polygon and stuff and you have a good graphics power house. i can't wait to see what mk6 does.

My opinion is that they werent muscular in previous MKs because the person doing the modeling for them wasnt that muscular. In MK4 there werent enough polygons to stress muscle as much. Now that they can, they should. Im glad the girls dont have them, the last thing you want in Li Mei with a 6-pack and biceps.

Maybe I prefer them because I am an avid weight-lifter myself and strive for the greatest physique (this behind overall strength) possible. But thats just me.

Well, just because they're martial artists doesn't mean they have to be body builders. I too dislike the style of the characters in MKDA (I think they look way too beefy and generally unrealistic)... not to the point that I'm completely put off by it, but I still think the characters would look alot better if they had leaner builds overall. I hope Midway will take a slightly different artistic direction with MK6...

I thought that they all looked just fine. I mean, they only reason to me they actually looked so humongous was because they're kind of closer to the screen(they take up about 2/3 or 3/4 the screen). I mean in the 2D versions they took up 1/3 or 1/4 the screen so of course they generally looked smaller.

I do see a slight increase in the size of muscles but only slight. I'm staring at 3D pics of Scorpion from MKDA and MK4 right now and they seem about the same size really...I guess it's the bulky clothing or something...I personally think most characters look kinda lean and not Arnold Schawrzenager level bulkyness.

I completely agree. Having that much muscle just doesn't seem right for some reason...and it completely contradicts their weights that are displayed in the fighter selection screen. Take Sub Zero for instance...a long time favorite of mine...He's 6'2, and, what? 210, or something close to that? I think not!! Stone Cold Steve Austin has even less muscle than Sub, and he's 252! With that much muscle, Sub should weigh...at least 300!

Oh, yeah, and the thing about the women's breasts all being augmented to the max, it's obvious that the designers are just horny.

Every character should have a unique body structure and not the same framework. They should make the characters unique so the fans can actually get a feel for them. I want to play MK6 not open a muscle mag.

There super elite species. There not gonna make a skinny 8 stone pakastani that can chop through a rough diamond on test your strength.

There not all massive built. Shang Tsung is average sized guy because hes more of a wizard. Half of the characters are hundreds of years old. Think how much time they have to body build.

This is a game where humans can hurl fireballs and blow kiss's of death at each other. Its not based on reality so don't base there body types on a guy that packs shelves in a supermarket.

Man, Scorpion looks more like a ninja than he has ever looked, in MK:DA. His old looks were barely ninja looks at all... All except maybe his MK1 look, and POSSIBLY, his MK2 look.

I think the build of the players is just fine.

Just think, if a bolt of lighting flashed in front of you and Raiden appeared. Do you think he'd have a normal build. No. He'd be fucking huge and would tower over you. They are muscular like that because the game is exaggerated. No one can shoot ice out of their hands, but thats beside the point.
