I've noticed a TON of threads lately that either bemoan the fatalities, the characters, the level of originality, gameplay issues, and so many other complaints, that there can be only one explanation. Some people on this board are going through a cooling off period. Hear me out.
For the last year and a half (and some change), we've all been clamoring for every scrap, every gritty picture, every video, every shred of evidence to support the existence of this character or that fatality, and now it's all coming to an end. I've heard it said that the thrill of the wait is better than the thrill of the result. Or in other words, people have had a lot of fun looking for information on MK:D, debating every new character spotted, every updated look, etc etc, and now that the game is only 2 weeks away, we know so much about the game, that the previous phase is wearing off of people.
Whether it's to talk the game down, so they don't expect much when they actually get to play MK:D, or whether it's that some people have always been critical of MK:D, it seems that the shock and awe factor has already worn out before the game has been released.
Now, I don't care if people dislike a certain fatality, or the look of a character, or any of that stuff, I mean, we all have opinions afterall. But when I start seeing words like "disappointed," and "let down," being used as descriptors for this game, I start to scratch my head. Honestly, we've been waiting for this game since the day after MK:DA came out. We'll be clamoring for info on MK7 the day after MK:D is released. Why not just enjoy what we know now? Try to figure out what we haven't learned yet. Have fun with the wait at least until the game is actually released. If the game is disappointing to you then, fine, feel free to say so. But just because you didn't get the character you like (I wanted Sektor, Quan Chi, Shang Tsung, and Shao Khan, but I DID get Baraka, Kabal, Jade, and Noob-Smoke!), don't generalize about the entire game.
I guess that's what I'm getting at here. The over generalizations. Just enjoy this time, this anticipation, the wondering part. Wondering whether it'll feel immediately familiar. Who you're going to pick. How cool it'll feel to pull off a stage fatality or pick an old favorite for the first time in a long time (cough Baraka cough). I'm not saying that people shouldn't speak their minds or anything like that. Far from it. I'm just saying that you might like this game more if you're actually looking forward to how much fun it'll be, not looking forward to being pleasantly surprised by what doesn't disappoint you.
If you don't feel that you're reacting this way, then this message wasn't intended for you. I just wanted to lay this out there, because there is a growing number of people on this board that have already considered this game a failure, or a disappointment, or not living up to personal expectations. Remember, the MK team isn't making this game just for you. We all have little things that we wish were different about the game. Certain characters we want in, certain stories that we don't think sound all that great. But in the end, we're getting a new entry into the most successful fighting game franchise in video game history. We're getting a sequel to the series that many of us grew up on. So relax with the hate, and enjoy the next two weeks. I know the info train has stopped, and we're all starting to critique what we know a bit more, but how about we do this in the proper context? By that I mean, let's have fun with this.

Nice point, but next time you might want to warn people that the post is going to be a little long. Or shorten it up a little.
About Me
I'm laughing at you, not with you.

I think what the two half-retarded mk fans on top of me are trying to say is thanks for speaking your mind, and nice thread.
