There are a few things I would like to say after reading the two very good and very long threads about the universal combo breakers and deep gameplay.....
1. ya I am a little upset with the universal breakers from the sound of it, but we do have to see it in action first. it could be better than we think
2. The only thing that really pisses me off personally about Deception is Boon's comments that MK is to be much more than a fighting game.... honestly I could give two shits about the mini games even if they look promising... I play mortal kombat because its a simple fighting game that is FUN. Not that deep but its FUN!!! This is my whole point here. I am not flaming anyone here either so I hope nobody takes this the wrong way.
Does MK have more shallow gameplay than tekken and other fighters? YES. so what? THat doesn't make it a worse or less fun game does it? I love Tekken almost as much as MK. It is much more deep in terms of character moves and fighting but I still like MK better.. Why? Because its fast, fun and has a great story. Whoever said that skill is a must even for MK is so right! I am sure that some of you are like me though and don't have time to sit there and practice moves and combos with all the characters all day long in tekken because some of us work full time (and go to school for their masters!). Am I a good tekken player? yes but I am not the absolute best. Thats why I love MK.... You can just pick it up, learn moves and how it operates quickly and then just have fun with it!
I want everyone to think about their favorite games of all time that have the most replay value. I bet 90% of them were on the original nintendo or super nes. were these games deep? no. Mario wasn't deep, not Contra, not double dragon... MORTAL KOMBAT II.... plenty of others. they are still great games though despite their lack of depth. I would prefer to play these any day over many of the realistic and complex games of today. So how is MK deception any different? Even my favorite games on the ps2 like Metal gear and onimusha. are these the most in depth role playing games (or whatever category they are) out there? Probably not, but I bet they are more popular than a lot of the others in that category even though they are less complex. All you do in Onimusha is slash your sword around and solve mini puzzles. but the graphics are great and the story is awesome! Its simple, yet I love it. SIMPLICITY is not always a bad thing. how many of you have played dynasty warriors? that game is fun as hell but its not very deep at all. they have made like 5 of them too and never are there drastic changes. I still love them all though. This is my point. I hope I didn't offend anyone. I was just using these examples to show why I am not fearing deception. I am sure it will be a fun fighting game that will have an awesome replay value and fun factor without its extreme depth. It worked in the past and it will work now!

i got board half way into your post, so long,

i got your message, we can't judge the univeral breaker until we play it, same thing with the side games, i really wouldn't if they were taken out of the game, i will mostly be playing konquest and kombat.

Great thread but you must separate it into paragraphs so it will look easier to read.

ya im sorry about the paragraphs. I actually did make them.... Ive been here 4 years and still have trouble with message boards. I am not a computer person sorry. I will try to fix that for u.
You have a good point, simple does not mean bad. A simple game can be great.

But when you get to preference I'd rather have a more realistic and complex MK, than a very simple one.

If I saw 2 versions of MK sitting side by side on a shelf one is simple and the other is complex.

I'd get the complex one immediately and wait till the price goes down, or till someone returns the simple one, so I can buy it cheaper later on.
