The Dragon King vs. Shao Kahn vs. Shinnok (plus a plot twist)
I've always been curious who the true big baddy is in Mortal Kombat. Obviously, Shao Kahn is the most popular, but that doesn't make him the most powerful by any stretch of the imagination. Also, the fact that Shinnok played like a normal character doesn't mean that in the stories, he's any less powerful than Kahn.
So who of these three do you think is the supreme evil? Do you think the Dragon King has a chance to dethrone Shao Kahn as the series top villian? Shinnok was definitely supposed to be a big Kahn replacement and that failed miserably. Hopefully this will work out.
Any thoughts?
Edit: I had a cool storyline Idea. What if Shao Kahn was created by the Dragon King, merely to watch over his kingdom until his resurrection? Would that not help establish the DK by making the current Ultimate villian just a pawn for the DK?
I was also thinking, maybe the dragon king should kill someone in order to secure his status. I mean, you can say anyone is a bad ass; but if he kills Kung Lao, or Kitana wouldn't it back that fact up? They'd have to kill the perfect character though; it couldn't be Sub-Zero or Scorpion, just because they are big money makers for Midway. Any other A-team cast member works though.

What if the DK was Shao Kahn's father?
That would be a hell of a twist. The DK would definitely want some revenge after Shang and Quan beat up his son, and that gives the possibility of Shao Kahn as a sub boss. It would also explain why they look similar.

You would think that being a Fallen Elder God and new ruler of Hell would make you hella powerful, Shinnok had so much potential. But if one sorcerer fooled an Elder God into thinking he had his own amulet for eons at a time then was killed by him with it, thats plain stupid. If he was up against Kahn, he'd be crushed if it was that easy. Shinnok with the amulet is a different story.
Kahn still is IMO King. A powerful immortal entity almost godlike in the dark arts, crushed and absorbed countless realms (Zaterra, Vamps, Edenia, Earth for a time, are most of the known ones) and expanded them into a single wasteland, and most likely and obviously untouchable in skill and brute strength (Kang did not beat him solely, Kung Lao and Earth Warriors aided in his defeat)... He wasnt dubbed Emperor for no reason. The DK has alot to top to be the new King in my eyes. And even after his attack and supposed death from two of the most powerful sorcerers, in a sneak attack, according to Boon, Kahn is still alive and almost crushed them in his weakened state.
The Dragon King is off to good start though, with his ressurection, appearence, and undefeatable army. Hes got a shitload of potential with him as Shinnok did so we shall see.

We don't know that much about the Dragon King.
As for Shinnok? He was the most powerful as ever when he was an Elder god. But ever since he was banished to the Netherealm he is no longer a God. With the Amulet he can be strong but not as strong as he used to be since he's not a god.
Shao Kahn? He is a Demi-God/Entity of some sort, or an Immortal being like it. His powers of darkness go far beyond sorcery. He absorbs power into him to make him stronger (inluding realms and souls). Even though you fight him in the MK2 game, storywise I don't think he fought during the Outworld tournament. But During the Outworld Invasion Sindel betrayed the Emperor. This made him lose the one thing that gained him entrance into Earth realm and he was vulnerable to defeat. He was defeated by all the Mortals opposing him. Had Sindel not betrayed him and Earth's forces tried to stop him, Kahn would have slew them all.
