The guy who looks like Baraka might not be Baraka. If you listen what the words in the trailer say, they perfectly describe the Dragon King's intentions! The Dragon King is possibly one of Baraka's race, as they are both from the Outworld. Baraka's race was nomadic and made up of warriors, which explains why the Dragon King had a great army and was always on the move to conquer other realms. Baraka was killed, as we see in MK:DA in a clip called Baraka's Demise, which is actually Baraka's ending in MK:Gold. If it wasn't true they wouldn't have included it in MK:DA.
The only reason that I would say that it isn't baraka is because his upper teeth cannot be seen

Guess what... Baraka is the only one who has swords in his arms.. I'm pretty sure the DK won't have that ability.
Didn't you see in the trailer when he popped the swords out of his arms?

Sub-Saibot has a point. Plus if you beat the game with Reptile, would know that the Dragon King was ressurected as REPTILE!!!!

I'm only going to say this one more time...THAT ENDING NEVER FREAKIN' HAPPENED. In order for that ending to of happened Quan Chi would have had to kill all of the elder gods, Raiden and everyone else in outworld. Which obviously didn't happen considering as how Raiden was in MK:DA.

And if we took everything that happened in mk endings serious there would be at least 10 people to of beat Shang Tsung/Shao Khan in each tournement and there would have been no Mortal Kombat 2...don't believe me, read Raiden's ending in mk1...

Have a nice day!

Maybe the DK sprit did not possess reptile, but Baraka.... Maybe he is just baraka... maybe baraka s just there to be cool... and The DK is the one to orchestrate the Deception, and maybe Liu khan did not die and he is prostituting himself as a trasvesti! (THAT would be cool)

If thats what you kids find cool these days .. >_> tranvestites.

But yeah, I think The Dragon King has returned in the form of Reptile.

Has that nomad actually been confirmed as Baraka. I know it probably is, but Baraka isn't the only one of his kind. Maybe it's like his brother or something out to get Mileena for killing him?

I personally don't like Baraka, and if it wasn't him, wouldn't be crying, but I don't think the story will even be remotely centred around him. The Dragon King should be the main focus. Maybe even Shao Kahn. But not Baraka, IMO. What good would that do?
Okay, the guy in the trailer IS Baraka. His upper teeth ARE visible, his gums are just real big. This is just a teaser trailer. The Dragon King will be the focus of the game. Baraka could be involved in the main storyline, but I doubt it. But I am sure that his storyline has something to do with Mileena. And I recall hearing something about Baraka being the last or one of the last ones of his race... so yeah...

Didn't Baraka have massive staples in his head and body? Were they in the trailer or did I just miss them?

They are not there...t he looks pretty different since MKG ...
it doesn't mean that is not him though...
The massive staples seem to be replaced by some sort of cranial-spike ... looks interesting.

The staples were there because he was supposed to have been killed by Kung Lao. He was sliced in two and then resurrected. The staples were holding him together. You guys must probably be right about Baraka's ending in MK:G, but those of you who say the guy in the trailer is Baraka because he has the blades on his arms and sharp teeth should think again. You should all know that Baraka IS NOT the only one who looks like that. His whole race has large sharp teeth, blades coming out of their arms and a really ugly face. The Dragon King is from the Outworld, so why should he look human and not like Baraka since Baraka comes from the Outworld too? Also, the trailer couldn't possibly talk about Baraka, as he was never really intelligent and always served others. So the conclusion is that the Dragon King is the guy from Baraka's race shown in the trailer. A blood-thirsty, evil-looking, warlord.

The Dragon King is not a dragon! He is just called "THE DRAGON KING"! He is from the Outworld and Baraka is from the Outworld! Baraka's race was a nomadic race of warriors and the Dragon King was a great warrior on a quest to conquer every realm he knew of! Get it??? That's the connection! Next time think before you post anything. I am not saying that Baraka is the Dragon King, I'm saying that the guy in the trailer is the Dragon King and not Baraka! They are just members of the same race, like Kung Lao and Liu Kang are both from Earth and look similar, but they are not the same person.

There was confirmation that Reptile's ending happened; therefore the surge of energy from the Dragon embryo went into him and chances are he'll be the Dragon King, not Baraka, and not another nomad. If the guy in the trailer was DK and not Baraka, then he would have to look similar to a reptilian creature because it was originally Reptile, no? Since it looks like Baraka, chances are it is. Why would they put another nomad in the game anyway, especially since Baraka's so popular?

If the Dragon King could get into Reptile's body, he could keep it temporarily until he found his real body and then get in it. I mean, the bodies of his soldiers (army) were all there, so what happened to his? Maybe you first fight the Dragon King in his original form, and when you destroy his body he re-enters Reptiles body and you have to fight him again in that form (like the way you fight Ogre in Tekken 3, where if he is defeated in the first round he merges his body with Heihachi's to turn into a much more powerull creature). That would be a great thing to incorporate in the game!
