Li Mei is indeed looking kickass this time around. I must say, although I'm not wild about her, I'm always prepared to give lackluster fighters a second chance. I'm just kinda sulky that I won't have my "Dragon King's mummified soldier" Li Mei though....

And so it seems that Kitana will definitely be taking a step back for his one. It's a shame, but the's been in MKII and in UMK3, Trilogy, MKG, and MKDA. She's not as tired as say, Jax, but she does need a bit of a rest (as Mileena will, after this one). We've already got Mileena, Tanya, Li Mei...

I WANT JADE BACK TOO!

It's disppointing to see all my fave females back, (Tanya, Sindel, Mileena) with the exception of Kitana, Jade, Nitara and Sonya. The other three have been in 3D already. I want Jade to be able to come back in the glory of 3D!

The trailer even has Li Mei's name in her lifebar. I was a li mei doubter. I was WRONG. Check out the MK3 pillars in the background!

I hate it when people say "we've had enough of that character because they were in UMK3 and MKT." I've never counted UMK3 and MKT as full, official installments of the series, because they were just upgrades of MK3; it wasn't a completely new story, all the old individual character bios stayed the same, and the basic gameplay and graphics didn't change at all. IMO, MKDA was only Kitana's second appearance where she felt like a complete, important character.

It is true with Li Mei, because if her ending were fulfilled, contradicted to endings like those of Kung Lao or Raiden, since the Deadly Alliance won, and therefore nobody could defeat them

Is it me or MK:D is f*cked up....dont get me wrong i'll still buy it but they seem to have picked the wrong characters for this one (female that is). Where are our beloved sonya, kitana..maybe even jade... why bring back characters that we don't give a rats ass about. We don't care about li mei nor tanya... theyre just damn rip offs.... bring back sheeva...shes would be just too great in that game... why didnt think of here.... they did a great job with sindel tough !!!

Well, Li Mei certainly seems improved. I just hope she has a better story.

Theres still a chance of it, and kitana as well. 6 females revleaed already. 14 of the 26 characters r unlockedfrom the start. i dunno how many r girls but 6 girls out of 20 fighters isnt a lot so iwouldnt be surprised to see like 2-4 more women

Well, I see nothing contradictory about Li Mei's ending as opposed to anyone else's, because:

a) We know that Shang Tsung and Quan Chi turned on each other in the end

b) They were not going to turn on each other until every last soldier in the Dragon King's undefeatable army was ressurrected.

c) No other ending makes a single mention of Li Mei's name, nor do any of them show her.

Be that as it may, you can't deny the fact that these characters did appear, and they had storylines of their own. Perhaps they were only added in at later dates, but that does not make their presence any less important. If you could move a cursor over the character, select them, play through the game, and watch an ending with them, I believe they're still part of the story, regardless of where they appeared.
