2 little (late) advices for Shadaloo for my khameleon:

1)look at her appearance with 60hz frequence...i don't know if you have a usa or pal copy of the game...i'm european and i saw that with 60hz, my khameleon is very cool and expecially her skin is a blue/green color....while with 50hz her skin seems too green (flourescent)....so use the 60hz ti judge her please :)

2)recently, i changed her sky kick speical move with kobra's rear vanishing punch (the moves where he disappear in a grey cloud and punch the enemy from the back).....obviously only if it isn't too late :(

The appearance is a slick one, no doubt about it - the pants go very well with the Ninja V gear. The hair's white, which is a nice twist. Thing about this is that for the purposes of this round, it's a bit too much of a departure from her UMK3 costume. Appearance-wise, a good look, but it would have been better in round 1.

The fighting style uses a familiar name, and the poses selected are good ones. Sadly, simply taking a drakesword and naming it Kirehashi isn't very inventive. Special moves are suited to the character - a bit of old an a touch of new - the fireball compliments her look quite well.

The bio...this is what I really have issues with. I know strictly speaking, in the animal universe, incest isn't applicable...but these are creatures who happen to have intelligence and human-like character traits, and Khameleon and Reptile are expected amongst the MK fanbase to hook up. Making them brother and sister just makes it far too bizarre and - I'm sorry to say this - nasty. I couldn't ever take this as an official bio.

Overall a nice attempt, but it's too far off from an alt, and the bio absolutely destroys it. :(

Appearance-wise...I really don't know what to say. It's pretty much just an unmasked UMK3 Khameleon with a ponytail. It certainly looks good, but the point of Round 2 was to put a spin on the UMK3 appearance (Think of how Rain's alt looks, and compare it to the UMK3 ninja garb)...this is hardly changed.

As stated for trynax's round 1 entry, the special moves are nice and varied, with influences coming from Mileena, new Kitana, and even Ashrah. I do love the variety placed in, and as for fighting styles, the names are very nice, and the sword remains an excellent choice! Sadly, there's not enough room in the naming slot for the name given the weapon - one letter too short.

Her ending is nice, as before, a good tie-in to Reptile's, but a bio in addition would have been even better.

Overall, very strong in terms of special moves and fighting styles, but the appearance is basically unchanged from UMK3, and that really brings it down.




Now, a general word:

NiftyGod27 hasn't sent me all the details necessary to complete his entry, so We're going to have to wait a bit before we see any results there. So in the meantime, considering that a few people wanted to enter but came in late, I'm going to give one more week for any new entries that people want to submit (And it is, in fact, too late to make changes if I've already judged here, before anyone who's already entered asks. :P).

NiftyGod27

Holy hot damn. Just like in Round One, the only problem I have with the appearance of Nifty's Khameleon is just how utterly awesome it looks - should be illegal. We have here the choice to use a different skin color, and it pays off in a big way. Very smooth, me likey! The costume itself is magnificence, a very royal-looking spin on the UMK3 look that is very easy on the eyes. Although merely mixing the UMK3 look with the Ninja V, the color scheme chosen is so nice that it comes off as brand new. Well done!

Even though I deleted the first entry from my inbox, I remember this one's special moves, etc. by looking at what I'd posted about it in Round 1. Like before, the sword suits the look, so does the hand-to-hand. Special moves are a nice departure, but still fitting on the whole...

And as before, this Khameleon's bio, while definitely inventive, unfortunately completely goes against what we know of the Zaterrans' fate - felled by Kahn after they lost to him in Mortal Kombat. Khameleon didn't execute her own race, and I find it highly difficult to believe she could have been naive enough to do such. Her ending is better however, giving fans the resolution they've wanted to see for so long.

Sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek! This alt for Khameleon perfectly compliments matthew's previous entry. The boots have a much nicer flow with the costume this time through, and as before, the skin & tail match perfectly, a difficult accomplishment. The face remains the most fine-tuned out of any I've seen so far... she's veiled, the only entry to use this, and although it clips with the Reptile face in close, in Kombat it isn't noticeable.

Her specials, as before, are a delicious mix of old and new, with outside influences. The throw works well - cool to see the tail in motion that way. The stance seems to work, and the club suits the savage side of the character, something I've seen in other Khameleon entries.

Matt's story remains top-notch: An alt and main bio, with a great ending that fiths the MKA flow. If the Zaterran MK loss had been mentioned specifically, it would have been perfect.

Scorpionspupil

O-kaaay, I'm officially creeped out. scorp's entry bears an errie resemblance to my own Khameleon, but with enough to differentiate it. Naturally, I like it! :P If there's one thing these entries have tought me, it's that gold accessories can indeed work very well when done right, and this shows it. This Khameleon is also the only one I've ever seen use this particular chest piece, and it works very well given the neck accessory. Everything about this is great. If I can nitpick a bit, it's odd to see the arm accessories go over the gloves, but it's hardly detrimental to the character.

The special moves are all wonderful. The choices made bring Tanya, Jade and Kitana to mind, with flavour from Reptile, as is standard in these entries. I love the throw, too - I should, it's what I personally used. Stop stealing my stuff! XD

The hand-to-hand and weapon styles both have a problem, however. H2H simply uses a style one very popular character uses, and it feels off, even if the name is reminiscent of reptiles. I think "Sub-Zero" when I use it, and shouldn't really. The sword style's name had to be mispelled and squished together in order to make it fit, which is a shame, because I do like it.

The story is, unfortunately, not much to speak of. it's simply a short bio briefly stating Khameleon's intentions, without clueing us in on where she's been. There's no ending, either. :(


And now, the results....

Before I announce the winners, I'd just like to say (and I know this sounds cliche) that it was very, very difficult to acknowledge only three of these entries as victors. Every single entry submitted to me had some good if not outstanding attributes to them, and it really does pain me to have to say anything to imply any of these Khameleons are superior to one another. That's not the case. There was no clear one that stood out above all others in this round - everyone's was awesome, simply in different aspects. I'm almost glad some entries are missing details others have - I'd be REALLY pulling my hair out if that were the case.


That said...I've PM'd Crow for the winners' Dragon Points, which go to...


Third Place: Keith

As stated in my congratulations to him for winning the first round, he gets everything right. This time was no exception, a superb creation, which still has one of the greatest stories for her, something which proves she doesn't necessarily need Reptile to be an effective character of her own.

Second Place: 28POiSoN_ShAdOW89

NiftyGod27 took 2nd last time for making his Khameleon so unique that I couldn't believe my eyes at how well it worked. This time, that award goes to 28POiSoN_ShAdOW89 for doing the same - this entry uses quite a few elements I wouldn't have expected to see in a Khameleon Alt, but still makes it work!

First Place: matthewhaddad

What can I say? It's a matter of getting everything just right, and matt has pulled it off, jumping up from last round's number three spot to switch places with Keith and snatch the prize! I'm glad that I extended the due date forward a week, as it's a privilege to see this entry in action. It looks magnificent in Kombat, and is a wonderful alt to not only his previous entry - but to Keith's winning first-round entry as well! It brings to the table a mix of UMK3 and new-school, and the sheer amount of storyline info is great, formatted MKD style - main bio, alt bio, and ending, all of which work beautifully - he even tosses us a bone regarding Chameleon as well! Bravo!


And that brings the second round to a close. I'd like to thank everyone who submitted an entry to me - I appreciate your time and effort, and it was simply great to see just how varied everyone's take on Khameleon was. I can tell by overlooking all the details, and noting the recurring themes, just what people would have wanted to see from her had she been present. After seeing your creations, I can safely say it is a bloody CRIME she wasn't in MKA, because Midway could have made her beautiful. Anyone who says it's no big deal she wasn't in can stuff it. :P

I'll let the discussion go on for a little while, and I'll post my own Khameleon soon, as we start Round 3, in which we all combine forces, post our own creations, and decide what works best for her, hopefully creating something utterly amazing! If anyone wants to start posting theirs, you're more than welcome!

sorry i didn't give a very good story. when i entered it, it was late so i just copied straight out of my KAK mode.

Not in all aspects, but there are definitely certain similarities such as skin color, mask and medallion.

Anyone who wants to put up a pic of their character is more than welcome to, unless they're lazy and just want me do do it for them. :P

I'll be posting the formula for mine at some point tomorrow. If anyone would be willing to make mine and post a pic, that would be awesome.
