I know that there have been a few threads about this but I couldn't easily locate one that wasn't in the depths. Anyway, what I'm talking about is a revamped create-a-character mode.

Armageddon had one that could make some memorable characters but...it honestly wasn't that good. The number one reason were the broken ass characters that resulted from it. The second reason was that it was also extremely limited in ways.

First and foremost nobody should be allowed to make their own fighting style, period. You should be forced to select one of the 20+ already made fighting styles of the main cast. Also, you should be allowed to have access to all special moves. There will still be broken characters due to the fact that there are going to be a few fighting styles that will be top tier. That cannot be debated. Also being able to pick special moves will still open up the possibility of finding new ways to break the gameplay.

Moving onto more shallow things, I think they did get it right in a few areas. Like voices, and bios and that sort of thing. The various face selections were fairly good as well. The only thing I would change or add are the inclusion of icons/decals on clothing.

Say for instance I wanted to make Superboy. Easy enough, short dark hair, black t-shirt, jeans. Done. To complete the look though you'd have to be able to put that red Superman "S" logo on the front. That's why I'd say include something maybe like the decal system that's in Forza Motorsport where you can spin and move various designs around the body to fit your needs. It will also allow for more intricate designs.

EDIT: This is an example of what I'm talking about...ALL of these designs were made using simple geometric patterns, letters, and numbers. You're able to spin, and place them where you need. You can also change the size and shape as well as colors.

Anyway though that's the best way to deal with the character situation. Give us the tools to make our favorite and more obscure characters.

It really all depends on if DC will be butthurts and wouldn't want certain characters in the game. If I remember either Marvel or DC tried to sue the creators of City Of Heros/Villans for this exact reason

Why would DC be upset over users making their characters...when the game is MK Vs. DC Universe?
