Ermac - An enigma to all who came into contact with him. Ermac's past remained shrouded in mystery. It was believed that he existed as a life force brought together by the souls of extinguished Outworld warriors. Shao Kahn managed to take possession of these souls and use them to fight on the side of tyranny, created to obey him without question. Having been in hiding since the first Mortal Kombat tournament, neither the Earth nor the Outworld recognized this elusive ninja. Given the opportunity, he would have ruled Outworld with his own brand of tyranny. He remained elusive throughtout the conflicts with Shinnok, serving as Shao Kahn's enforcer for many years until the Earthrealm warrior Kenshi released him from bondage and awakened his perception of the worlds that surround him. The collection of souls known as Ermac was now free to choose their own destiny.
