I don't know if all of you would know what this move is...but it is by far one of the most Cool looking kicks in Martial Arts. I would love to see a character have this kick as one of their basic fighting moves..like B+1 or something. That being said...What fighting style do you think the Scorpion kick would most closely fit into? Does anyone know of it's origin, you know, like what fighting system it first was implemeted in? In movies and Shows I have only seen Females do this kick...and Voldo from SC has his own 'unique' version of it....so I was thinking maybe Kira could have it? Or Mileena? If anyone can tell me which style would be the most likely to include this awesome move I would be most appreciated. Thanks! So who else would like to see this move?

Post a link of a picture or video of it so I know what you're talking about. It sounds like something out of WuShu.

This is apparently a Scorpion Kick:

http://fcsc8041.home.comcast.net/ReneHiguita.mpeg

If that's the case, no, I would not want to see that, as that move is worthless and is just for flare.

Reality-wise, by the time you drop to the ground, your opponent will know something's up (unless they're really stupid and/or have bad reflexes), and move or grab your feet as they propel towards you.

Voldo is not necessarily one of the better characters in Soul Calibur, and for good reason. Although his style is fun to look at and play with, his moves are more or less just flashy.

No, I had seen that too...that's not the one I was talking about I was talking about this scorpion kick...Trinity does it to the VERY LAST guy she puts down...There is a short advertisment before it begins so be patient:

http://www.eonline.com/shared/Eonline/features/Heatwave2003/matrix2_trinity_enters.asx

That is the move I meant.
*Edit..Damn it didn't work! Don't know why..Go to this page: http://movieweb.com/movies/film.php?86 It will be under fim clips listed as Trinity Enters.

That's not bad. That can be pulled off in a fighting game. I'm neutral if it looks like that, since there's no true reason to have or not have it.

For some reason it reminds me of Li Mei's clock kick.
Ah kool, I can see why it's called the Scorpion kick - just like there stingers. Anyway, yeah that is a pretty damn sweet kick man, I reakon that would look really good with Tanya maybe

No...This Scorpion kick is done with the fighter FACING their opponent..not with their back turned...You face your opponent, and then you bend the top half of your body forwad and low, while at the same time bring your leg up backwards so that it looks like your trying to put you foot above your head, kicking the opponent in the face or sometimes chest depending on height....I know I probably didn't do a good job explaining that...so see the page that I have given the URL for above....scroll down to film clips and click on Trinity Enters...Watch the vid She takes out the VERY LAST guy with a scorpion kick....then you will see it's not the same kick that your thinking of that Scorp performs.

Did Jackie Chan do something like this on a pool table in Rumble in the Bronx?

The kick looks great to me! I'd love to see it in game!

Tanya is an interesting choice for it. I think someone with Capoeira could use that kick well. If Tanya were given that style it'd be perfect for her.

Is the kick a Capoeria kick tgrant?

I'm one for keeping things in it's proper place - if the Scorpion kick is not in the style, then don't put it in. I cannot stand seeing Sub-Zero's typical kick because it is not a proper Shotokan kick.

Scorpion has it in deadly alliance and no one can't doubt me.I'm Scorpion's biggest fan an too tell me he doesn't do it with his back faces the opponent,it's like saying I don't drink tea in the morning. The kick is performed in da by pressing back, cirlcle for Hakido fighting style. Here is the video,it's at the end of the trailer.Click official trailer1. click here

I'm no capoeirista (sp?) but it seems to me like you can enter a handstand immediately following that kick. I don't see why not. Good instincts, tgrant.

I think Tanya would look wicked performing that kick grin.

That's not the same kick! Does Scorpion bend over FACING his opponent when he does the kick? The kick he does in DA is a simple back kick. (Although, it does have its name in the moves list). Wesley Snipes even does a kick similar to the one Scorpion does in MK:DA in Blade 2 when fighting Nomak at the end. They are going at each other, Blade pushes Nomak then goes at him and does the kick, kicking Nomak in the stomach, making him hit the wall. I'm talking about the kick Scorpion does in MK:DA. Snipes did it, or something similar in Blade 2.

There's a BIG difference in the way Scorpion does that back kick compared to the way Trinity does this "Scorpion Kick" in Matrix Reloaded.

Anyway... I wouldn't mind seeing a female character do the kick in MK:D. And like someone, or some people mentioned before, Tanya would be a good choice for it.

I love scorpion, and he does not have that move at all.
I'd love to see someone obtain such a move in an mk game, it'd look kickass.
Maybe if not in the game, then maybe in a 3d video of a fight scene or something.
btw, i can't wait to see any cg videos if there are any..
that move is wicked, i just can't wait to perform it in real life, j/k, i wish.

Thanks man! And I didn't think about a handstand. Looking back at it, your right. You'd need to be really good at keeping your balance to pull it off though.

Yeah! Tanya would look great using Capoeira and that kick!

That looks awesome! I think Tanya or Kira could definitely use that kick in battle. I actually think it fits females so much more then males for some reason.

I think it could be easily implemented in the game, I say Tanya.
