Have you noticed the difference of size of the characters:

Rain < Shinnok < Sheeva < Probably Motaro as he said he was bigger as one of the 'bosses' of the game.

It brought me to
It would be cool if there was a importance in weight difference for the characters like in SSB Melee.

ex:

Mileena/Kira/Frost : Featherweight (----- power +++++ nimble)
Liu Kang/Ashrah/Rain : Lightweight (----+ power ++++- nimble)
Sub Zero/Cage/Tsung : Middleweight (---++ power +++-- nimble)
Sektor/Jax/Sheeva : Heavyweight (--+++ power ++--- nimble)
Goro/Moloch/Kintaro : Enormous weight (-++++ power +---- nimble)
Onaga/Motaro/Blaze : Monstrous weight (+++++ power ----- nimble)

By looking at those pics I realize Stryker and Shinnok have at least 2 costumes. One of them being new. So even Kitana, Shang Tsung, Sonya, Motaro, Cage, Kintaro, Quan Chi will have a new look. Everyone in fact. grin

Nimble is pretty much the same as agile. Someone quick, and mobile.

I can't wait to see what other stage weapons they come up with. First thing I'm doing when I get Armageddon, is working on a new faq.

What I hope to see is the return of the Deadpool and the possible inclusion of the hooks as part of a second stage fatality with impalement, instead of just being knocked off of the platform and into the acid as the only stage fatality. I also would like this one to be not that easy to accomplish, what with them positioned over the acid for the most part. Without speaking in a riddle, I mean doing that via something like an aerial directional throw right at the hook suspended from the chain. Let's not forget this impalement might also warrant being lowered into the acid from the weight of the nearly-dead opponent being pulled down by gravity, and the chain having to lower because of this.

[*is such a huge fan of the arena, and this fan base (maybe even OBSESSION) has spawned a character in role-playing as an embodiment of the arena and what it stands for, so gets a deviously evil smile a mile wide and mere slits for eyes*

I simply could not help but mention the above, my fanboyism for the arena runs that deep.]

In any event, along another related note, is the possible inclusion of a weapon for the stage, so long as they make the arena a bit larger in size (length and width). Given the environment of the stage, all this can warrant that would make sense is a discarded chain (hook attached to end, possibly?) that is not as big as the ones holding the large hooks.

In all seriousness, this is the one biggest thing I could truly ask for, more than the very ability to create a fighter itself. But I'm slowly coming to grips that I don't see there's going to be a style involving chains of any sort that can be officially picked, so the 100% full imagination-to-game translation of my aforementioned character embodiment of the arena will never be possible. That saddens me quite a bit, as upon my seeing Liu Kang in Deception for the first time, I was believing that those chains with the hooked ends that hang down from his wrists were his weapon. I realize now that making a style out of that would be difficult enough to warrant not putting it in the game.

But I will come right back and say a single chain, with weighted ends (manriki[gusari] chain), is likely a good addition, and by all means it is possible to do, albeit probably a bit difficult for the motion capture team (among the reasons being safety, not to mention that having to use a plastic version would seem half-assed because the physics behind a metal chain won't accurately translate over into the style; perhaps I'm being overly critical here, mentioning the physics and realism, so I think that maybe I should stop talking about those). In any event, if it were to happen, I think the weapon should have a bit longer-than-normal reach, but then balance that out with not having the weapon be crucially hard-hitting. Even without a hook on it, at least a major part of my character's aesthetic & fighting skill with using the chains and other metallic bondage/torture implements won't have to be completely thrown out when I create her in the game. So, having this single chain in the Deadpool would at least help me out in this small aspect.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THIS IDEA? (Apologies for not avoiding to mention my female character embodiment of the arena, but she doesn't leave my thoughts when I think of the game now... XP)

And, very good thread. Hope to see an update soon. Actually, with the high-quality movie now downloaded and in my hands, let me see if I can get the hammer from Kahn's Arena screencapped, enlarged (loss of quality notwithstanding, so you'll have to excuse this) and posted.

Plus, I think this thread should get a sticky.

I just noticed something while watching the video. At 14:45, while they are talking about and showing us Konquest, I took a hard look after my initial double take. Noticing not one but several grinders in the room as death traps, I then looked at the wooden floor, and that is the convincing factor for me... I have come to the conclusion that when you go to the Netherrealm, you WILL VISIT THE CITY OF NEKROS.

AND WHAT ARENA IS SET THERE?

THE SLAUGHTERHOUSE.

*>D*

OH F$CK YES.

EDIT: Oh, the video was proving to be a cast-iron b¡z¡t¢h. You JUST BARELY see Kahn's Wrath Hammer in the lower right corner, and in the time it shows up in the shot, more than half of the time, it is blurry. I got the best spot I could by manually going through the frames after pausing the video, and got a partial screencap of only the hammer. Having a Macintosh at which to do the work has made this INFINITELY EASIER, and far quicker. Anyway, enough out of my mouth, here is Kahn's Wrath Hammer: http://img212.imageshack.us/img212/8334/shaokahnshammer6tl.png

Just look at the top right corner! He's doing a smile to you grin The area looks a bit like MK:SM so I suppose too it's Kahn's Arena.
Wastelands was confirmed to have a "cool new deathtrap" in Kamidogu.com's interview with Beran. It's been added to the list on Page 1.

Still need a pic of the weapon in Kahn's Arena, please.

it was up in my first post, but i did not know how to link images at the time, so i just put the url in the message at the bottom and hit enter to get it a line away from the rest of the message (should have moved it two lines down), but it looks like it was overlooked.

anyway, i have the image thing figured out, so it should be below:

The Wastelands Death Trap is when you get knocked into the statue and it falls on you. - 100% sure.

Thanks, but do you have a clearer pic? The hammer blends in with the bg too much.

Unfortunately, no, that's the best I could get from the manual frame scrolling through the only part of the video it was in. This makes it very tough to work with, as the action doesn't even stop long enough to produce a clear shot of it. But I do want to mention this, that there WERE about two or three opportunities where the screen was at its slowest, and would have provided a far better snapshot... HOWEVER, because of the site's logo being in that same corner, those opportunities could not be taken advantage of here.

If there is a possible way to see the video without the logo being in the way, e-mail or find me on the instant messagers and let me know. Then, I'm pretty sure I can one-up the picture, but it won't be dramatically clearer like night and day.

Now that E3's been here, I can update this thread again. I got a better pic of Kahn's Arena Hammer. Now we need to get pics added from E3,

Ka-Tra
That thread by Barakaz_cuz reminded me I need to update this, lol.

I'll try to get some new pics by taking screencaps of the Youtube vids.
