Everyone's noticed how all of the fatalities we've seen have had the characters' eyes glowing yellow, correct?
Well, during the Joker footage we saw that rage mode also emits a yellow glow.
Now, everyone remembers them saying that Rage mode plays a part in the story, explaining how certain characters are able to go toe to toe with certain other characters, correct?
Well, there's your reason. The glowing yellow eyes indicate the rage effect and explains how, for example, Joker is able to put a bullet through Supes' head.

I fail to see how, just because Joker is enraged, his gun somehow gains a strength boost. o_O
Anyway, I don't really think the Rage ability is somehow story relevant. It's just a gaming mechanic exactly as Def Jam's Blazing move.
Also, because Scorpion, Superman and Joker move exactly the same, wobbly stance and glowing eyes, before executing a Fatality, I'm hoping it's just a placeholder animation before everyone gets their unique animations.

To paragraph 1: Magic
To paragraph 2: They already stated it was.
To paragraph 3: "Wobbly Stance"?

could be just a cool effect.
As time passes by im starting to put more interest in this Mk game, but i've always wanted to know: Why do every player that has performed a fatality start his eyes glowing like they are possesed or something?...i mean, they should stick to a unique move per character before he/she performs a fatality and the screen getting darker as always. Dont you guys think so?
I mean the unique MOVES per character make a unique GAME and creates a special feeling to fans and new players as well....I know Boon said that every character will have his/her unique winning pose, that's very GOOD to hear!!!!...but c'mon Boon could also include moves that define the character in every aspect...like for example the joker could make a taunt and laghs in the oponent's face and say "why so serious?" and then finishing off....i hope they improve the game in that aspect, because from where i can see, they are moving in the right direction!! I getting excited in every new video i watch about this game....Im a REALLY old school MK FAN and i still play MK1, MK2, MK3, UMK3.....................So the fact that the game fighting mechanic feels 2D im IN!!!
Another example is the way FATALITY appears when the matches end, and of course a Fatality has been performed....It should really look CREPPY something like MK2 looked like, with a special FX sound after the word starts filling up with blood...remember that??!!!
See that kind of details is what i mean.....i want to know if you guys think a like???!!!...If someone could comunicate that to Boon i asure that the game will have enven more acceptation from ALL OF US OLD SCHOOL MK FANS!!

it's not really a big thing but i do think it looks terribly stupid. i there's not point in having it on joker when he's doing his fatality, i mean i would assume the gun would work the same with anyone.
same with superman, he'd be able to pound sub-zero into the ground regardless.
but my fear right now is that the fatality stance isn't just an early place holder but something that every single character will have.

I guess the glowing eyes is also more sort of a psychological implementation, especially that MK vs DC Universe is a 13+ rated game.
It is meant to be for kids since the well-known DC along with MK characters look human.
First, when kids see the glowing eyes they understand that this is a cartoon or fiction character that is doing a Fatality/Brutality.
Second, the moment the kid sees the glowing eyes this will prepare him/her to whether he wants to see the character's Fatality/Brutality or not, or even some mature people are disturbed by such scenes.

While I do think it's terribly stupid to have the glowing eyes and that stupid dance before a fatality for every character, I'm not too worried about it. Hopefully they're just a placeholder.
Remember for MKD, Scorpion had Darrius' arm rip / beat fatality?
The only character the glowing eyes would make sense is for Superman. Scorpion on the other hand should have engulfed eyes before a fatality like in MKSM.

I don't even think the glowing eyes fit Superman. I'd prefer a subtle glowing deep red. Looking like he possessed by a demon or something. He always looks badass when his eyes slightly start to glow, like he'd laser your ass into oblivion.
The glowing eyes we have right now, look like someone screwed light bulbs into the character's eye sockets.

I guess I'm ok with the thing at the beginning of the fatality.. but the glowing eyes kinda suck
