Cool idea but if any one can be unlocked then all can. Perhaps that could just be the way to get the first one, ie, giving you the choice.

That is a very good idea, I like it.

Just another theory: Maybe the MK crew could build on the rumors about the Drum Arena stage in MKDA. Maybe if you meet a certain condition in the fight, you get to fight one of those classic characters.

But I would rather have them be unlockable too.

I'd almost be willing to garauntee stuff like this is going to happen. They're trying to make this game "more dark, like mk2", and mk2 was almost renowned for it's impossible to beat secret characters.

I mean, I remember jumping around like an idiot in MK2 throwing nothing but low kicks before the question mark, in order to fight Jade.

Just to get my butt whipped, heh.

Maybe you could unlock a few of them as secret characters.

my idea that i posted on other threads, was that if you get knocked into the cages they open. If you open all the cages in one round you unlock the last character you freed.

It'd be cool if they could be unlocked but I doubt it. I do have a question and an idea though.

Question: Isn't Fujin in one cell? If so, how? I thought he was a god.

Idea: If the characters can't be unlocked at least make them interactive in a stage fatality/death trap compacity. Like, let's say your character gets knocked into one of the prisoners cells and they do an old fatality of theirs on you. That'd be great.

u cant unlock them, they dont look as 3d or have enough polygons like the fighters on the fighter select screen do.

also they are their for a purpose, shows that they are still alive

2. shows that they will be playable in mk7.
3. prison stage level info: will say how they got trapped in there.

and also there is a yellow line around the cages which means that they do attck you which is cool. as long as they do that i am happy.

I'm pretty sure in one of the pictures you see Jade's legs. Why they make a completely new model for just the background? Maybe they are unlockable? Who knows?

I think they used Tanya's model from MK3 and changed it to green in the prison stage

The fact that they dont look as 3d as other characters like you say, doesnt necessarly mean that they arent playable. Maybe they just lowered the polygon count on those characters to keep a good frame rate while fighting on that stage. Of course they would be as detailled as other characters when you unlock them. But since they are part of the background on the prison stage, lowering their polygon count to avoid slowdowns while fighting on that level could explain why they dont look as polished as other characters.

i highly believe that rain will be in the prison for attacking shao khan
