Looking at the character list from the German PSM Mag, there has to be more than 24 characters if that is indeed the confirmed character list. Looking at Murdoinks character thread, the missing; characters may be hidden. The 24 characters in the game does not mention hidden characters. And returning from MKDA does not mean that they cannot have others from MKDA as hidden characters.
I think that Mavado, Kung Lao, Raiden, Shang Tsung and Quan Chi among others will be hidden. Given that list and the stories from MKDA, certain characters must be appearing as hidden characters.
Why build up Kung Laos story in that way and then no conclude it? If Master Cho is playable in MKD then Kung Lao should definitely be back!
Quan and Shang should back. If not both then maybe just one of them. If not either of them then Kano should be back. Someone must return with the amulet? Which of the three will it be?
Then theres Mavado. He has become very important and his absence could be explained by Kabals return, but Id prefer him to be in game. Kabal may have caught up with him and beaten him but I doubt they;d have that happen so quickly.
Frost s absence would be caused because of both her and Subs ending. We may or may not see her.
And then theres Nitara, he story triggered the DKs return! Why is she not back?
And is Reptile really the DK? If not, where is he? I remember seeing something that said Reptiles essence helped bring back the DK, but reptile himself was him.
So I think these characters will be hidden rather than not in there at all.
