Well I know that this can't be incooperated into Decpetion since it has already been released an all but this is just a thought on what COULD'VE happened. WARNING** It isn't a big theroy just small so I'm not going into detail. Just asking for your opinion.
Well I was thinking what if MKD were based more on the Gods...(Raiden Fujin and the other gods of like earth and stuff). Like those would be some new characters introduced the rest of the Gods. And Fujin and Raiden would have to end their rivalry (IDK if they had one I'm not a big follower story wise). So that would be nice to introduce the rest of them since they introduced 2. And together with their combined might defeat Onaga and in MK7 that is when Shujinko is called upon.
Just a thought it is probably whack but this is an opinionated site so I just gave mine.

Eh i dont know about that one, I see wherer your comming from, and I dont think its that bad of an idea, but I think it will be kinda hard to keep other popular characters in the story as well. For the past couple of games, they were listening to us when we were saying who we want back, and next game Sonya, Rain, and Sektor will most likely be in, but I couldnt see a place for them in a story of that kind. I do like it though, maybe if it was their own seperate game like A mythologies game, it would be pretty cool, or maybe introduce 1 or 2 in no. 7. Good idea though man!

I guess that could be a good theory but isn't Shujinko called upon in this game to fight the dragon king. and wasnt he on a mission for the elder gods before MK1? im just wondering. i'm not questioning your theory.

I don't believe Fujin and Raiden ever had a rivalry if thats what your saying, fujin was simply raidens successor as protector of earth, back at the end of MK4. I dunno I guess you just have to watch this whole "war of the gods" theme, because if you introduce to many gods it might take away from the whole "mortal" aspect of "mortal Kombat' I think some gods are okay, but we do allready have three in the franchise allready, not including mythologies.

Ya exactly Shujinko is the hero and will save the day from the rath of Onaga but I'm saying the gods try and stop him in MKD (theroy) and in MK7 that isn when Shujinko is introduced and that story is over.
Thanks for the feed back mortalkombat247 and subzero513

I like this idea, but I agree it would kind of take away from the concept of mortals involved.
And the gods are kind of good to have as a mysterious force that doesn't like to "get involved".
They never do a damn thing. Also, I was reading some stuff from MK Mythologies about how Shinok and Quan-Chi led a battle in the heavens against the gods and killed most of them. That is kind of interesting and might explain why they don't like to "get involved". Cuz they get killed! lol
But, another Mythologies/ Konquest type of game would be cool. That could really explore this untapped area of MK.
