I've counted the cost, and everthing, but, I still think that weapon drawing is better than 1 button, access.
To me, the weapon system in MK:DA (...Deadly Alliance) was just a little too fake. It's not even as much about looking realistic. To me, the system in MK:DA just seemed to kind of throw off the balance of the game. DA already had some cartoonish elements, but, the weapon system really deminished it.

I know that some of you may not think it's a big deal, but, it's really the little thing like this that can make or break a fighting game.

You have a point; same thing with when a character has been impaled in the first round and loses, and when they get up for the second round the weapon magically disappears. Or when you win and it says finish him, and you're in your weapon stance, then do a fatality, again the weapon magically disappears. They should do something about that.

I agree. At least in MK4 you drew your weapon.(From where I don't know, but that's not the point) The point is to have them draw it from somewhere. For instance Scorpion could have drawn his sword from the sheath on his back. If more than one character has the same weapon, then the animations could be the same too. Like for Frost ans Subby the can have an ice animation where the weapon forms out of water in the air. Cyrax can pull his beam sword from a leg compartment ala Robocop and switch it on. Kitana's fans and Nitara Scythes can be in a carrying case of some sort on their hips. I could go on for a while but I'm not. What do you think about these, and does anybody else have ways to draw weapons too?

I agree wholeheartedly- if the seperate armed/unarmed styles are kept there has to be some `drawing`. I like the ideas for the different characters too.

Yeah, I've always thought that Kitana could even have like a carrying pouch in her boots, and draw her fans from there (like she did in the movie-MK:A).

I even liked the weapon system, in MK4, even though it was a bit slow. This way, it gives the game balance, if you understand what I mean. Afterall, Mortal Kombat is not a sword fighting game...It's really supposed to be about hand-to-hand Kombat. Although, the weapons were a very creative, innovative, and awesome edition, they should never be the main focus of MK.

I believe the more realistic a videogame is, it is all the more interactive.

yea ur all right about that, this aint soul calibur, but that game was hot.. anyway it would be ill to do the whole throwing the weapon down on the floor an lettin the other guy pick up ur weapon. and the weapon comin out by 1 button and stayin there for a long time was alittle unoriginal. an wat about weapon fatalitys, we never had those...

I liked the way that the weapons were drean in the MK4 aswell. I stead of drawing your weapon with the push of one button, there should be a sequence of buttons to pull you weapon.

I would like it if they made it so you could switch between stances 1 and 2 with one button and pull your weapon from either stance. If you think about it, combo possibilities would open up a lot more.

I agree. Although I have no problem with 1 button access. They should still not just appear in their hands. And the weapons should be visible on the character somewhere, like Scorpion's, except have them actually take one of those weapons out and use it and not leave them there as spares and use a magically appearing weapon instead, like Scorpion did. And why was it that in all the pictures of Kenshi, and even the fight selection screen, the pic of him shows his sword on his back, but it's not in the game? ^_^

Yes, the weapon system in MK:DA was kind of unoriginal. I thought that was unlike Mortal Kombat. Mortal Kombat usually sets the bar, but, it seems to me, like it is becoming a little to much like Soul Calibur. They should change the weapon system.
