No. People are reading into this the wrong way. It's being 'released' tommorrow. That means it's leaving the factory to the various shipping companies. There are no deliveries on the weekend. So that means on MONDAY THE 4TH, the game will start to be shipped to retailers.

I pre-ordered mine at EBGames and they also said the 4th and 5th... Actually, it was the 4th for the regular copy and the morning of the 5th for the PP and the SE (they will get these games on the morning of the 5th and shelve them that day!!).

Like Kobra, I too work at an EBGames and let me tell you how it all works. Listen carefully now.
First thing, Toys R Us will not have the game on the 1st, I don't care what they say. When it comes to games and release dates they are the worse company in the business about getting games when they are supposed to be in the store. I can guarantee you that the Oct.1st date is a screw up. Heck I bet they are confusing the Strategy Guide with the game, which by the way can possible be in stores as early as the 1st even though or release date in our computer says the 2nd.
Now, there are some EBGames, not all of them, that will more than likely do a same day pick up of the game from the local airport or wherever they would pick up the shipment. It really all depends on the store's pre-orders on the game. If its in high demand at your store, it could likely be in on the 4th. More than likely to be in the late afternoon.
So, yes expect the game on the 5th at all EBGames, with some possibly getting it the 4th, just check with your local store on Monday and see if they are getting an early shipment.

Not a soul has reported receiving the game today. So that takes care of the Mortal Kombat Friday rumor.

Just got back from Target. I had my camera phone in hand just in case to get proof. There's no proof needed cuz the game is not there.

GameStop (PlanetX) in Bergen Mall, Paramus, NJ. I called today and they told me MKD is gonan be tehre on the 6th.

They got me too. Kollector's Edition delayed, but I did get a phone call saying it will be available tomorrow afternoon. Afternoon????? Why not in the morning?

Yeah well, I think Gamestop just lost a customer. I completely understand how the gaming industry handles release dates, but this is crazy. A couple people that I talked to that ordered from Gamerush got theirs on Monday, and the rest yesterday. It wouldn't be so much of a big deal if it wasn't for the fact I called them on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday to confirm that the KE would be there on the 5th. So I take off from work early to make it to the store before it closes, get to the store and I'm told that it is getting there tomorrow. LAME!
So now I have to leave work early yet again to go get the game, which I don't think my boss is too happy about even though he is a big gamer aswell and understands. I'm glad he's cool with it and all, but I feel bad kinda cuz someone had to come in and cover me today so I could leave early. They have nobody to cover tomorrow so I am leaving them "high and dry".
But yeah, anyway, Gamestop is lame and I'll be ordering from Gamerush from now on.

Damn UPS to hell. I call my gamestop today after waking up from 6 hour sleep after working a 12 hour graveyard shift hoping to be able to pick my premium pack version up only to here that Gamestop is in communication with UPS to find out what happened to 3 lost boxes that were supposed to be delivered today. Of course they reassured me that they would have it tomorrow. However as I type Im in the middle of another graveyard shift...yipee
