Yaa well can't have a story without some good key elements so everyone who is thinking of ideas and theroys keep it up because you never know if someone in this very forum might be Ed Boon hinting at what is in MKD wink

I think that Kabal is trying to reform the Black Dragon, for his own benefits; for example he can be seeking revenge and needs people to help him and now he is using the Black Dragon as a way to get what he wants.

That's where i think Kabal's cards are falling.

Well, first of all, I don't look at Noob Saibot by any means as a ruler or king as you acknowledged him as.
But if you are going to look at Noob Saibot that way, what about Smoke? He went from Pawn- to the Lin Kuei's little play toy- to a king. So in my eyes, Noob Saibot deserves no trash talk, if Smoke isn't going to get any.
I by all means think Smoke is a great character, it's just that he is the same as Noob Saibot. He went from nothing, to something big.
As for Kabal, you don't know that he is trying to become evil...again. He could be reforming the Black Dragon for good purposes. Just because Kira is evil, I don't think really means that the Black Dragon is evil. Sure the Black Dragon is originally an evil clan, but so was the Lin Kuei. But if Kabal is evil now, then I think that's better. He damn well should be evil. I man with a messed up face like that, should not be someone fighting for justice. Kabal is just as good of a crime fighter, as Elton John is straight.
So, when I think of Noob Saibot, I don't think leader, but I think of Smoke no more of a leader than Noob Saibot.
And as for Kabal, i'm sure Midway made the right decision.
Edit: I know that Kira is evil, so you don't have to point that out. But just because she is evil and working with Kabal, doesn't mean Kabal is evil. Quan Chi and Shang Tsung are evil but Raiden tried helping them to try to defeat the Dragon King. Maybe Kabal and Kira feel the same way and figure they can get the job done easier when working together.

I don't mean to double post but I just wanted to say that I say that in all due respect Temp. I know you are a Smoke fan and all, but I just wanted to make sure you weren't favoring him just because he is your favorite.

Ah, no worries, man. Actually, I don't think Smoke has risen up to anything. I think he's been recruited by Noob, hence a follower/pawn. I'm just as disappointed, maybe even more disappointed in him on some aspects.
Anyway, I'll made a thread out of my Kabal theory tomorrow(the one posted above). I'll let this one slide out to the next few pages.

Smoke and Noob both started out as Story-less characters who took turns peeking from behind trees. So they could be manipulated and changed as pleased. If remembered in Smoke's UMK3 Ending (Human) He went off into the forest to learn from fellow ninjas, aka Noob Saibot who first started out lurking in the forest. Kinda makes sense.
Anyhow, I think the only real bad ass in this game, is Scorpion. He's not taking sides, and that's what makes him such a threat to everyone. Scorpion alone is an Immortal being, he's been killed over and over, sent to Hell and only gotten stronger. Scorpion is the only one any of these clans should be fearing. A plot twist for him would be all these clans battling it out, forgetting him and he rose up and annihilated them. That's only my take on it.

Actually, Noob never peeked out from behind trees. That was just Smoke and Jade.
Human Smoke's UMK3 ending was retconned by his MKT ending, which basically stated that his human form in that era was a memory (he didn't actually exist as human during the MK3-era)
