Thoughts on the MKD forum (in response to some recent threads)

I posted this in another thread, but I thought everyone should see it.
It occurs to me this is a forum for discussing ideas and opinions, and people should be free to (1) Have an opinion, and (2) express their opinion (so long as it is not vulgur or obscene). And I don't think the purpose of this forum is so that people can only talk about what they like about the game. If that were the case, I think the forum would be called "MK Deception praise forum" instead of "MK discussion forum." A persons opinon is their own, and it should not change your opinon (unless your opinion is not that strong to begin with). If you like a particular aspect of a game (like a fatality), does the fact someone does not cause you to like it any less? It should not.
Though no one can know for sure until the game actually comes out, MKD does have the possibility (a strong possibility) of being the greatest game ever created for the MK franchaise. However, you do not have to like everything about the game just because it is MK. In fact, it is the process of gamers giving constructive critiques that has led to all the improvements the franchaise has seen over the years.
Finally, keep in mind it every critism you have of MKD is spectulative at best, since any aspect of the game can still change prior to release.
Just some thoughts.

Well, some of the stuff people defend they actually like. Like if people complain about Nightwolf or BRC and others defend it...its not just because its mk and they like it. I dont think you really took the time to look at other ppls perspectives.

What he's saying though is, alot of people are complaining about the complaints and criticism MK Deception is getting, he's not saying it's wrong for people defending what they like. He's saying it's wrong for people to tell others to stop complaining and criticizing the game. He's saying everyone has the right to put in their 2 cents about the game, or a certain aspect of the game, and everyone should respect that person's opinion. I really don't think he was trying to say people shouldn't defend what they like, he's simply saying they shouldn't tell people not to comment when really all they've got to do is ignore the complaints and move on with their life.

I don't think aspects of gameplay can be specualative at best because we already know Deception is based on Deadly Alliance's engine, also every improvement known so far has been shown.
The only thing gameplay wise I can think of are changes to current styles/new styles.
Otherwise it's pretty safe to say that if you're happy or not you'll have a pretty good idea why.

MobiusakaBorat . .. you missed the point of what I am saying. Certain people are slamming others for having any critical opinion about the game. I think this is not right. Even a game as good as MKD can have elements that people don't like; everyone does not have to like everything. People should not try to eliminate the opinions of others just because they do not agree with them (for example, the post the told people to stop critizing the fatalities)
Example: I happen to really like the Puzzle Kombat mode. If some posts a thread that says they do not like that game mode, I should not post another thread that says that opinion is stupid just because it is different from my own. Myself and the other person should be able to engage in a discussion (the name of the forum) on why we like or dislike particular aspects of the game.
I just get the feeling that people are trying to stop others from expressing their opinions just because they disagree with them. I also get the feeling that some people think there is no room for critism of a MK game. Both of these positions are plainly incorrect.

I dunno, when I read it I was under the impression that he was saying those that defend what others complain about solely do it because they are mk fans. Thats basically saying they are wrong and not admitting it. I just said that the deal is that they defend because they honestly like it, not just because they are "fanboys"

People can defend stuff all they want, it's when they start bashing other MK fans that it becomes a problem.
It shows a lack of respect, maturity and class.
That sounds insulting to some people, but that's just how I see it....Nothing personal.
If someone disagrees with another persons idea or whatever, IMO they should counter with their own ideas and beliefs, thats OK.
What they shouldn't do is saying stuff like you are stupid, or shut up, get out of here, go play the other games........
This goes for both types of people.
I see some critiques that are insulting for example when someone says something like MK sucks, you are a scrub, and stop sucking Boons goods, bla bla bla.....
Especially the last one, I mean how do people dare say stuff like that. It's not only insulting to the poster, but to Boon also.
It's totally uncalled for. IMO that should be an instant ban. This is a serious problem.
Again, I'm not trying to attack anybody personally, this is just how I feel about the subject.
We all need to show respect for others and the MK team while at the same time being able to express and debate each others opinions in a civil manner.

You are the man, thats pretty much exactly what I was gonna write, MKD is almost identical to MKDA in every way, thats why its easier for people to have an opinion on it, but still, even though Im not looking forward to MKD, if I play it, my opinion may totally change, who knows.
