OK, yes it's ANOTHER post...but hey, alot of people know me so I will make a post and you can say what you want after it, but this is my opinion and isn't negotable...if you don't like it hold down alt and press f4 3 times really fast. (I will reply, however If I see some good replies)

1. Boon says there are "super unlockables" in the game. MKO has fight night and it's confirmed that there is no more characters after the 24 on the grid. You know why....Shujinko and Liu Kang are SU's. Shujinko has a move from all the most power characters making him a force to reckon with, and Liu Kang is supposed to be the big secret in the game... be behind a tent at 12:00am on friday...how many of you thought to look there really...the answer is 0....you all used a guide, like me.

2. We are told the colored keys in the game just opens doors...that is there only purpose, the Ninja Star does nothing, as confirmed. I have emailed vogel and asked him about The Netherealm key, because I didn't know what it opened, he will be getting back to me. (don't even THINK about flaming me...ask the MKO staff if you don't belive that I have contact wil Vogel)

3. I am not a totaly 1337 h4x0r, but hey I know a little bit...and Poked around in the game files and ripped audio from the games viewed text that is said in the game, there is no one else in there.

4. As you know, the MK Team love to have a Joke...if you were at fight night and saw all the "FOV 120" "ED BOON 490" "See you in orderealm at 5am"
take it as a joke nothing more...nothing less.

5. There is more to be found in the game, just no new charaters... Ed Boon himself told us that he knows a few "timed events" in konquest have not been found, alot of you comment on the photo of one of the MK Team found in the krypt that has puzzle fighter characters fighting in what seems to be arcade mode. Maybe this is something to be found in Arcade Mode?

you wanted secrets you got them, unfortuantly you just worked them out to early...don't expect so much from it...it's a game..it had secrets, it had what you wanted... you are all just being greedy and wanting more....get over it.

Hope this helps
Regards, furious

I'm glad you restated for these new people that there is nothing left to unlock.

though I still could have done without boon saying there would be more than 24 characters, that there would be things not apparant on the main select screen. Though that could mean the mini versions of the characters.

I could have done without all the puzzle fighter movies showing Kira, Havik, Ashrah, Hotaru. And the fact Ashrah and Hotaru are on the loading screens in puzzle fighter. What the hell is that? Why do we get to see Nitara vs Drahmin during the attract mode?

They could have easily put in more characters with all the player models going unused on the game disc. I still think its shafting us that this game uses a previous engine and what we get in this package could be passed off as a mod for a game.

If the gamecube gets extra characters that are on our PS2 and Xbox discs, you can bet it was deliberate on their part to pull that crap.

I guess my last questions in the game are how to get into the building in the Netherealm, and where is Goro/Khameleon in konquest mode (Goro's model from the prison looks much different than whoever is with johnny cage on that platform)

well, in my opinion there are NO super unlockable characters, maybe other small secrets like Boon said... but i am not some hater of these SU threads, it is always interesting to listen to someone's opinion.
As for this thread, i don't really think that Shujinko is a SU, because it was known everywhere that he is playable and he is the main "hero", and his trading card was even posted on IGN and there was said that he is onlocked in the arcade by the ending of Konquest ...

Ok that's fair, but isn't it worrying, how the game didn't even last two days, until everything's unlocked? Seriously MK's starting to loose it's touch. I agree that the old characters who were included is good, but c'mon I don't even have the game and it still seems a little bit unfinished. I for one am used to SU's amd secrets in MK. It took about two weeks to complete Konquest in MKDA(I'm not a hardcore player+fan, as you can see grin) and when I finished it I was like wow since I got new characters that WERE'NT ON THE SELECT SCREEN. I really like these kind of secrets, it's just a welcome surprise that "says" the game's complete and they made it more complete by adding little secrets.

imo all the su models that are in the game via cheat devices were once in the game but when the gamecube version came around they canned em to use them as bonuses for the gamecube version.

The Puzzle fighter thing is a big part of the reason people have a hard time beliving people when they say there is nothing left to get. They put all this stuff in the movies, krypt, and load screens of stuff that isn't in the game. What to they think people are going to think? Its misleading and its playing fans to sell more copies. Sooner of later they better deliver or it is going to bite them in the ass.

If there is no way to fight against Frost, Drahmin, Blaze, Nitara, and Kitana then yah they pulled them out. Thier models have been reworked and everything else is in place for them. Drahmin looks way different. They did all the hard work for it. They must have pulled them for some reason, and I'm leaning tward $$$ over time.

When people can hack open the data on the cd, it would probably take them no more than a few hours to look through it all and know all the secrets.

Then there's hardcore players who marathon themselves through playing the game and find it all.

Let's face it people, if there were secret characters, we'd have known by now. We'd have known after a couple of days. Almost a month after it's release and no characters discovered that don't feature on or aren't reachable via the select screen means there just ain't any.

If other countries or platforms get extra characters, then it just blows. Unless its my country, in which it's very cool :) glasses grin

I'm going to shut up now, since I'm already repeating myself too much. All I have to say is wait untill the game's published everywhere and after that wait for a couple of weeks, so that everybody knows everything about the game. I really doubt that anybody except the MK team knows all from MKD. Patience please. Don't say anything's sure yet. I'll burst my bubble myself if there are no SU's.

I have been saying this for a while too, but it seems no one wants to listen!

The SU's were planned, but were scrapped from the PS2 and X-box versions when they announced the Gamecube version - so they could have features exclusive to it, to make up for no online play.

I mean, it's less work for them to just remove the originaly planned SU's from 2 versions and add them to the Gamecube one.

But hey, I wouldn't give up on them just yet...

I don't agree or disagree with this whole SU thing. I think that if they want to keep some mystery to it though, the select screen should not show the blackened boxes of characters you haven't unlocked yet. When you get the game, you know right away you have 12 characters to unlock. I think they should just show the 12 starting characters and nothing else. As you get unlockable characters, they're boxes get added, at least this way there is some mystery to it. You don't know right away that you have X amount of characters to get.

wow...lots of cool and smart replies, w00t
In responce...

KombatKommando: I am not saying that everything is found, I am saying there is stuff left in Konquest mode.
uNreal: I can see your point, but Boon hildelf said in a few interviews that Shujinko was a super unlockable character... (finding all his moves makes him super, not unlocking him)
DeathAngel: With the internet and people who go through the game code, it can take 1 day for someone good to find out everything!
[Shaokahn]: exactly
DeathAngel: Yes, all the MK:DA secrets were found just as fast (unlocking Blaze and Mokap and full krypt list)
Humulis: The models are there for Konquest mode, so they are in the game...just not selectable...the cheat devices give you control over those models
Snowcat: exactly
krsx66: actully, Noob Smoke was planned as a SU originaly...
TKDmaniac: A nice point, I would like to see this too

Yes, actually. By MKDA's fight night (shortly after it's release) we knew everything about it. The only reason it took slightly longer in MKD was because there was more to unlock and we didn't have a "koin glitch" like in MKDA to unlock the Krypt so fast. In both games, the game files were looked into to find any unlockables.

When you go to those measures to find secrets, there is no real way to "hide" anything anymore, hence my question at the last Fight Night.

I think that their are SU in the game. Ed Boon said that there will be more than 24 characters. Again people won't find them anytime soon since they are so deep in Konquest. I think that you won't be able to find them unless you beat 100% of Konquest before they even appear. The main question at Fight Night was the question about SU. A good percent of MKO users got mad when the MK team didn't answer that question. If I were them too I wouldn't have told anyone. The game isn't even a month old much less only out in the West. When the internet info like that can spread fast. Also the MK team team didn't give clear answers on the subject, having that been said people should watch the MAT2 making of MK3 videos. If you watch the one with the video that opens up with Kerri Hoskins you will see the MK team talking about hidden secrets at one point. During the vid you notice the MK team attudide toward answering about the kombat kodes in the game. To me the same type of attuide was present at fight night. There may not be SU of course but I am willing to bet that their are. I won't go hunting for them but I will play Konquest till I've beat every thing there is to beat and do. I'm doing and finding challages that aren't even in alot of online guides, so who knows what is in Konquest. In the mean time, have fun with the game.

And they weren't quit honest in MKDA's Fight Night if you recall. Where's the "final secret" ?! There is none. What makes you think everything they said this time was 100% accurate? I don't think there will be any secret characters as well but only the guys at Midway know for sure, and they never seem to be honest about anything with their fans, so we can't be sure. And I think MKDA's fight night was after the release of the PAL version but I'm not betting on that.

I read somewhere that Raiden and Liu Kang were originally planned to be secret selectables but replaced 2 other characters on the main select screen in the end, those 2 characters were wiped off the plate altogether... But who were they?

So MK's life: 1 day... wow... that's kinda pathetic. And it doesn't even have any depth... o'boy. Seriously you people are really good at these games since you found everything on both games in one day. But as DamRho said: "the MK team isn't reliable". I really hope there are SU's(I'm buying it anyway) and it would be more enjoyable if it had. If this is all the game has to offer, I'll just play it for probably 2 weeks and that's that. It's a shame.
But one thing, wouldn't any of you like to have SU's? I wasn't saying in any post that there must be, just speculating. Also I think there's no reason to believe anything just yet. Patience

Well i think that the deadly alliance of Shang Tsung And Quan Chi Is Playable. i was digginging around my Kotnent and i found a pic of shang tsung's collapsed palace. when i chcked the info about the pic it said that Raiden and the two sorrcereors were destroyed........Or Were They? If Raiden can come back Then Shang and Quan Should have no prob. Quan would want revenge against dragon king for taking his army and Shang now without limitless souls to intake would have to act fast to stay alive by soul consuming.

This is quite possibly the second best thread in this forum since it was created. Everything TMK said, regardeless of whether you want to dismiss it as 'opinion' or not, is far more logical than any of these other theory's floating around.

Everybody seems to be screaming "Liu Kang isn't a 'super unlockable'!", but there's more proof that he is, than that he isn't.

MK: No Ermac.
MKDA: No 'final secret'
MKD: No "SU's".
End.
Go make a sandwich. EDIT: Actually that Ermac thing was a bad example.

Alright I sent an e-mail to Ed Boon about the Super Unlockables and here is what he had to say....

Hi Charles,

I thought I had answered the Super Unlockables question. Go back to
the transcript and I think you should see it. I mentioned that there
are no other characters other than the 24 on the main select screen.
I also talked about what people are calling "Super Unlockables".

Unfortunately, a LOT of people make stuff up about what I said and
it ends up coming back to me and people just don't listen to what
they don't want to hear.

Hope this helps,

Ed

Now weither you believe this email thing or not I don't care. Everyone is entitiled to there own opinion. But that is what he honestly said. Does this really prove anything....I guess/think it does.
Anyways... take care. smile
P.S. And yes I too have Vogel's email as do many people. lol.
