I wouldn't be as bothered as I am if Boon hadn't already said MK8 would be a "fresh start" and it would wipe the slate clean and start a new, dark and gritty MK story.

I was thinking: Cool. I'd kind of given up on MK after MKA, because it's always been a good setting without a good fighting system, but then in MKA the setting fucked up. Of course, MKA did fix some of the problems with the old fighting system. We had a ground game and we had parries to try and allow something other than breakers, but the game was still flawed. The move system was still the flawed one from MKDA. So, mainly I was thinking: Completely new fighting system.... Awesome. Maybe they'll start from the ground up and get it right.

Maybe they will. MK vs DC does have a new fighting system. Again, however, I can still tell he's going for style over substance. The very idea of this crossover is style over substance. By definition, any "dark grittiness" is counteracted by the whimsical nature of a cross-over. Back to the gameplay: we can knock people through walls and fight while falling. Ok, no assurances that Superman won't be doing infinite combos on your ass online. I guess no one wants to hear that stuff in a presentation, but the very nature of the game makes me apprehensive.

He had said originally that MK8 would feature only a small number of returning characters. This can no longer be. It's another MKA; a party game. They'll bring back Rain and Motaro back (again) and pit them against Aquaman (lol) and Booster Gold (LOL). It's a compilation type game in the lines of MK Trilogy, MKA, and... Tekken Tag (except that has a great fighting system).

I hate to whine, but I could make a sizable bet that this game will be broken as fuck again. Style over substance. When you get over the shock of this massive kick to MK's nuts, what counts is what remains to be seen; whether it'll be logical and fair to play online and off. Midway does not have a good track record with this.

It's not a party game where you got that from I don't know lol but this is FAR from a party game, party games are SSBB or Mario Party....this is a fighting game.

Assuming it is even broken, I can tell ya this much being a player of high level of the MK series getting rid of the multiple styles period will make it more balanced and playable, better then 3 styles with numbers OTG's, FT's etc...

Honestly, to those fans judging a book by it's cover it just boardline dumb.

Don't care who likes it, don't care who does the past few days have been nothing but bitching, complaining and ungrateful MK fans that are judging something they know nothing or little about just like the rest of us...
