It sounds like they are trying to fix everything that was wrong with MK:DA and then some.

So they confimed 9 of the classic characters and say that there are some more. So some of the classic are hidden or the total number of 24 has expanded. Can't wait to find out who else is in.

Sounds like they changed Hotaru in Dairou, but that's ok. Are there any new pics of characters we haven't seen before like Tanya or Kabal???

Answers to some of your questions---

NEW PICTURES

Yes there are new pictures. They show frame by frame, two of the stage fatalities. One is kind of hard to see whats happening.. It looks like he is hit flying across the stage and hits the wall...then he slides down into some lava. The other one shows a character getting hit through a wall on top of a building, and falling down hitting a roof, then rolling off and falling some more, before hitting the ground and splattering.

They show concept art of the new Female Black Dragon character. She looks cool. They have concept art of one of the stages that has several glass floors, with a large monster thing at the bottom with a huge mouth (Assuming stage fatality at the bottom)

No new pics of Tanya...I was hoping to see one too. When referencing both the returning characters, and new ones, they said that there was more that they couldnt reveal yet..

Any other questions? I'll check back throughout the day and post when I can today..

That's going to be one wicked stage fatality.

Was Liu Kang's spirit/zombie listed as a returning character or seperate?

Just speculation, but I'm thinking this spirit may not actually be playable...but like a cutscene in Konquest. Liu's ghost offering you his wisdom or whatever in Konquest makes perfect sense.

I don't think Lui will be playable at all. The ghost thing sounds right for Konquest, but maybe in the story mode his ghost comes to Raiden or Kung Lao and says whatever. The zombie thing has had my mind twisting for quite some time, because you know a zombie is souless. So maybe somehow the Dragon King found Lui's body and made it so it can be controlled through himself? You know, sort of like a reincarnation but different since Lui's soul doesn't come back which means Lui isn't really back. I think we may have to fight a zombie Lui Kang in Deception(who is controlled by the Dragon King). That sounds awesome in my honest opinion.

I think it's just one person but they changed the name to Dairou.

I'm thinking they changed Hotaru's name to Dairu when they realized Hotaru is a female name.

Hotaru is not a female name. Also they have half a dozen ninjas, why can't they have two samurais?

I definitely agree with you there, also this is all fantastic info. This actually gets me excited because they said that Kira is a Black Dragon....and where the Black Dragon is Sonya and the special forces are never far behind. This makes me think she will be back because when they listed returning characters they said that they still have more that can't be revealed yet. So I'm hoping!! Please bring Sonya back.

Does anyone have any proof about this Dairou/Hotaru thing? Both keep getting mentioned in articles. Is there a pic of "Hotaru" being called Dairou so we know for 100% sure they are one in the same?


If they are the same it's weird...the name Dairou came first, since he was almost in DA. Then they switched to Hotaru...then BACK to Dairou?

hmm.. mabe samurai brothers.. one bad one good... who knows.. we only know that theres chars named dairu and kohru.. hmm..

Interactive backgrounds arent exactly new in Mortal Kombat...people seemed to forget about the bank, and scorpions lair from MK3...but yeh...

sounds like a good game, but Ill stick with Soul Calibur until I hear 'Cyrax is confirmed'

Are you sure that this issue is out yet? I am subscribed, and I still don't have it. The GI web site says that it will be out in 10 days, and I can't find it in any stores. How did you get it?

I assure you I have it.. I got it last week some time. It's got Halo 2 on the cover, and at the top of the cover it has a small pic of Sub Zero and it says something like "4 pages of new MK: Deception info".

I dont know why you dont have it yet.. I live on the East Coast and I always get my magazines early. In fact, Im expecting the newest EGM within a couple days, since thats how it works every month.

I have no reason to make this up. I'm just a huge MK fan like the rest of you and wanted to share the news as soon as I got the issue.

I received this Magazine today everything you said is true. It's looks awesome.

Ok, I didn't mean to make it sound like I was calling you a liar, but it was a little suspicious that the Game Informer web site said the newest issue was the one with Jak 3 and Ratchet and Clank 3. It also said that the next issue comes out in 10 days, so you can't blame me for wanting to know what was going on. I just hope I get it soon so I can see the new pics. I want it NOW
