With MKD's release on the horizon, there will be vast amounts of information being posted. We here at MKO respect the fact that many users don't want the game's story and other aspects ruined before they have a chance to even play the game.
Therefore, please put a spoiler warning in all topics/posts which contain them. Threads which do not do so will be edited, or in the extreme scenario, even closed. Thank you.

Upon returning to this site after preparing/taking midterms, I've found that many of you have voiced complaints concerning the enforcement of this rule. I've weighed the content of the complaints, and I felt some things needed be clarified. Here are some points that need to be taken into consideration.
1) By far, the the issue that seems to have most of you wired up is the fact that fatality spoilers are posted on the front news page. Although I don't see why someone who wants to avoid spoilers would read a news post that is titled "New MKD Fatalities," but I can understand the principle that what applies in the MKD section should hold true with the news page. After all, there is no guarantee that your first glance is going to be on the news title anyway. I will take this matter up with the staff and see what can be done. Still, I make no promises.
2) Many of the latter posts within this thread have complained that the spoiler rule isn't being enforced. Not exactly true, but I will say that it isn't being enforced enough to really be affective. Let me just say right now that before I even started updating this thread, I went through every topic on the front page and checked for spoilers(caught two or three that weren't labeled). Half of this problem is due to the fact that I predicted the rule would only need to be enforced casually. I put way too much faith in the common sense and natural ethics of most users, figuring that anyone could comply to a rule so easy to follow. Not a mistake I'll be making twice. The second problem was that once I diagnosed the problem with spoilers in the MKD section, I pretty much had to temporarily ditch the site because I had midterms to study for(still studying for them, actually). Both of the circumstances have been adjusted and I guarantee you that spoiler warnings are a much higher priority at this point.
3) This issue hasn't really been brought up in the complaints, but I feel it needs to be addressed, none the less. MKO doesn't have a specific rule defining what a spoiler is limited to. Therefore, instead of saying what can't be posted without a spoiler warning(other then story, fatalties, secrets), let's specify what CAN be posted. Any information posted that is considered common knowledge will not be chastised. This includes initial stages, Any info gathered at E3, and the central 24 selectable characters. I understand you people want this game to be fresh when it is released, but there has to be a balance. I don't want users to walk blindly into spoilers, but I also don't want to put a strangle hold on the users who wish to discuss such fundemental information. If we put a spoiler warning on 90% of the MKD section's content, it would be like walking through a mine field for those who don't want to read spoilers. Everyone has a different view of they want and don't want to discover before Oct. 4, and we have to draw a line somewhere.
Please take this into consideration, people.
[ Anyone found to be placing spoilers in the subject line of their threads will be immediately BANNED with NO warning. NO exceptions. Wait until people in other countries get the chance to play the game before you ruin it for them, or make use of the spoilers button when you post (its a button near the emoticons and clearly seen) and place it within your actual post and NOT the subject line at least. - Jonin01 ]

Maybe because they want discuss in the forums.
A lot ppl go to the general discussion forum and they have to go through the updates to get there.

The news on the front page doesn't give away any spoilers. They merely mention the update along with what it concerns. Notice that they didn't mention what happened to Rayden in the FMV intro.
And I don't know who said or edited what, but I will say this: Anyone who "doesn't give a fuck" about the spoiler guidlines or any other rule will be banned. Every rule we have at this site is instated for a reason, and they will ALL be respected and followed. End of story.
And Tgrant: Thanks, man.

Like it or not, this is the rule. With this implemented, people who want spoilers may read them; those who don't won't have to. Everybody wins. If some of you are too lazy to type *Spoiler* in your thread title, you're welcome to leave.
Top rule, thanks Temp.
As someone who will not get the game until mid 2005 (PAL GC Release), there are some things I don't want to know.
Why not visit the site when MK:D is released?
Because there are still some things I want to discuss, something that may look like a theory in a title (eg: Sub-Zero is Scorpions brother?) is presented as a theory, but it may in fact be a spoiler, which is shown through Konquest mode.
Anyway, thank you for the bringing in of this rule again. Here's hoping for a kick-arse 2005.
