I agree, I REALLY didn't like the fatalities in DA. I thought Johnny Cage's was awesome but that was it. It was simple and brutal. The same way subzeros ice freeze/shatter was simple yet cool. scorpion's "head tug" would have been good if the head hadn't magically turned into a bloodied skull. what the hell was that about?
