was armageddon rushed?
i like MKA but i think the game was way to rushed... examples: they didnt put that much stuff in the krypt, the konquest was to short (deceptions konquest was longer), they didnt give characters original fatalities (i do like kreate a fatality but original are better), motor kombat should have more levels, they should of shown pictures of their endings like in past games, should of gave characters 3 styles like they used to for more kombos.
i mean its a good game but i feel like it was rushed
does anybody else feel the same way?

1. The Krypt had more hidden items than the previous two, and they even took time to code in the ability to tell what the unlocked item is. Ungrateful, much?
2. The Konquest is a SIDE GAME, on top of Motor Kombat, 64 selectable characters, and KAK. How can you actually expect Konquest to be any longer than it is?
3. People have been moaning about Fatalities since MK3. They gave you KAF so you can have more interactivity with the Fatality. If they gave characters specific fatalities, you'd still whine they didn't do a certain thing or about how they did it, just like in MK Deception. That fact wouldn't change.
4. Again, Motor Kombat was a SIDE GAME. It is not meant to be a FULL fledged game.
5. You try spreading 3 fighting styles over 64 characters and doing all that work on top of everything else in the game and see if you are able to make it by a deadline.
Conclusion: It was not rushed, you just have a lot of people who expect way too much every MK game and that is why there is always someone complaining. You can't make everyone happy, and they gave you more this MK game than they gave you in any of the previous MK games, so I fail to see how this was in any way "rushed".

Yes it was rushed. If they would have taken their time they would have given every character new costumes. I was happy with the new stages based on old games, but not happy with the stages they brought back from MKD. If someone has not played MKDA or MKD, they would be very happy with this game.

How is it "rushed" because they didn't give all those characters new costumes? All those character models from MK:DA and MKD are completely up to date, and there is no reason to waste the time or effort to make new costumes for all of them. You also have more stages in this game to fight in than the previous two even without the few measely MKD stages they put in.

I agree with everything he said. How can it be rushed with 64 characters,a MUCH better konquest,an AWESOME kreate a kharacter, addictive motor kombat and ultimate mk3.
I think Ed Boon and his team have made an INCREDIBLE game.

Did they ever think for one second that not everybody is gonna afford getting a brand new console from next gen? We're not made of money. The game was rushed.Im not satisfied and I want my $50.00 back.

I agree with Melfice. it wasn't rushed. there was just so much to put in that they had to trim it down a little. sure they could add a few things to it, but the game is awesome! theyre saving some features that they didnt put in for next generation.
by the way, Melfice was right about both Motor Kombat & Konquest. Konquest is a side game to get you to understand how everything fits into the storyline. and Motor Kombat has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the MKA storyline. its just a side game for entertainment! that's my opinion. what's yours?

It started off good, but i think towards the end they just completly rushed it. Just think of all the things they could have put in the game:
Puzzle Kombat,Chess,Test Your Might,Test your sight,2 on 2/or tag team,Bio's,better endings AND LESS GLICHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hell, i would have waited another year if i knew the game would be better.

it feels like a rush job, they had a lil more time than what they did for deception. the way midway is kinda reminds me of that movie "grandmas boy" u know, the game tester living at home thing, and ed boon is that j.p character thinking his games r the best around, lol, the next mk will be called mortal kombat: feel the RUSH, yeah, the rush to get it out the damn door..

I'm really enjoying the game, especially the KAK, but I know for a FACT it was rushed because on the Premium Edition DVD trading cards they mention stuff about "not having enough time." I know it RARELY happens, but i would love it if instead of placing a fixed deadline on when to complete a game, companies would let it be fluid so they can put all the effort & time needed to make a good, solid game. I always side on quality not quantity when it comes to video games. Set a deadline for a certain date just to be able to give yourself a goal, but if you see that you won't finish by that time, push the date back & COMPLETE your game.
Still, I feel it's worth the $50 I paid, I just wish it was better & I KNOW it could have been.

I wouldn't blame the MK team on that, considering that they don't make the deadlines, Midway does. If the MK team set the deadlines, we'd wait longer, but get a better game.

Character models from MKDA and MKD are up to date? I guess using old character models from old games is considered "up to date" for you. But for people who own and played MKDA, MKD, and MKA things are old are boring for the character models. I like the new stages but not rehashed stages from MKD. Even the ending were rushed, plus no character bios.

It's not that it was rushed, they simply didn't invest the time they had into areas that matter....like the core gameplay. Then again they had little incentive to really improve the gameplay considering they were just planning to start it all from scratch anyway in the next game. So yeah, they didn't rush this they just chose to waste their time on diversions (Boon calls them that and an accurate term it is) and extras.

Midway doesn't care if you'll wait longer. They want it out in the market and sold. The bios are on their way. Pretty much everyone agrees that John Vogel failed utterly storywise(that is unless the bios fixes a lot of issues like he promised). There are already enough diversions to the core game, yet you complain about the game and ask for more diversions.
Okay, here is my opinion.
They tried to ten pounds of shit into a five pound bag.
Not saying that I didn't like MKA, I found it fun. But there definitely are a few problems.
KAK could've been much better, and even though I actually enjoyed Kreate a Fatality, it needed character specific enders.
The combat has been improved, but they threw in stuff that should've been in since MKDA. The new air combat is more or less homogenous, every character basically has the same attacks (though jumping is good). Plus, I know it would've been hell to code three stances, but the lack of any style-branches kinda limited your options.
In the new Konquest, they tried to cram in as many cameos as possible, without regard to whether they made sense or not (Why the fuck was Reptile in the Red Dragon's lair? Why is Sareena with Quan Chi again?). I admit, I found it fun, but sorely lacking in some regards. At least I liked Taven better than Shujinko.
The Konquest arenas, while many are pretty to look at, have no interactivity whatsoever. Seriously, the Lin Kuei lair from MKDA at least had giant icicles to shove people through.
And the story. I have to admit, once it was mentioned that everyone would show up, I knew the story would be lackluster. But I wasn't prepared for the full force of it. Seriously, Kano the frickin' weredragon? Kitana's all girl fight squad? Scorpion's clan living again, only to have Quan Chi just pop in to continue their rivalry?
Finally, if they could've coded in Khameleon or added in at least one more KAK part with the time and space they saved by doing it, they should've dropped Motor Kombat.

Boon said that he figured that 62 characters would have been enough, and they had a really hard time with Motoro(which they eventually had to put down to two legs). He also said that he wouldn't bet on Khameleon in the Wii version either.

It wasn't so much rushed as it was that they ran out of the time that MIdway gave them.

Midway's gay, if it meant waiting a bit longer to make the game better i think its worth it. The game is still good tho.
0
its not rushed, if a game felt and looked like it was "rushed" there would have been way more things to lack in konquest, less characters, skipping the entire mortor kombat and just put in the regular puzzle or chess kombat, kak would have that many items, kaf wouldn't have that many moves, less specials, less combos and lack of arenas. midway did put a lot of effort into this game, wheter or not there are lack of things that we expected for it to have but doesn't, if they really did rush the game comapred to you then that's your opinion. i have nothing against it, to me, this fourm is actually a good one to tell you the truth. but i seriously doubt that midway began to work on MK8 during the finsihing touchings of MKA, that would be a waste of time for amrageddon.

agreed.
The weird thing is, all the bitching I hear is pretty much over stuff that doesn't affect actual gameplay: bios, kata endings, costumes. Some of you people are more worried about asethetic (sp?) value then the actual gameplay mechanisms. KAK is awesome and people say it sucks because there is a couple special moves, probably for balancing reasons.
Just play the game or shut up and don't, stop nit-picking, please.

I agree with prodigy, Midway IS gay. The last time they made a decent game (besides MK) was before MK was even made; like NARC and the OG Rampage.
Yes, it was rushed. The lack of overall polish, combined with the NUMEROUS gameplay bugs (may of which could have been found with proper testing) and an overall feeling of "incompleteness", including bios and an actual ending that tells you what the fuck happens...
Leave it to Midway to take their flagship franchise and rush it to the market as shit.
