This thread would go in the Armageddon Fourm. This fourm talks about games from Mk1-MK4/Gold.

Not a failure I tell you

But it is rushed, like Boon wants to get rid of that quickly.

- Bad Storyline, without the worries to make bios, tie the plot with deception and the worst endings ever.

- Too much worry with Kreate a Character, feature that I think it was useless in a game with 60 fighters. And not to mention Motor Kombat.

- The Kreate a Fatality completely shows lazy. They simply want not to stop and thinking in good fatalities for everyone.

- Only 2 styles. That was a huge problem, since the variety of MKDA and MKD cames from those. Well, but even that are less generic than MK VS DC, since you got weapons.

- Short things to do in 1 Player mode. Only a arcade mode, with characters glued into Arenas. Arenas that dont show in Aracade mode, etc.

It is bad, since the concept of having all characters again were nice, but it was screwed.

I don't think it was a failure but it was definitely not the best MK around.

1. Bad plot, no connection to MK:D, everyone back from the dead
2. Motor Kombat could have been better, along with Konquest
3. No clarification of a canon ending to MK:D which makes me question if MK:A is canon at all to begin with
4. Kreate a Kharacter feels rushed.

I enjoy the game, it's fun to play. The aerial kombat is cool, especially with Kung Lao. The only downside was the fatalities, though I understand why they did it that way. I wish there were more of a story arc to it too. But a fun game.
Yea i hated the customized fatalities and the mk racing game. furious

MKA rocked! Aside from the KAF, KAK, Motor Kombat, storyline, Konquest, Lack of original movesets, and online.

No. Just the lack of character specific fatalities, the bios having MK:D's true endings suck (an old man with no real powers beating a 12 ft tall, muscle bound dragon creature that played him for the idiot he is? Impossible), and not enough KAF options.

I think it was a very good game, but it wasn't great... it felt a little lacking. Instead of the mini-games, they should had used that time, effort, and game space to improve the game.
My biggest complaints were probably that Smoke had Judo instead of a weapon and Kintaro didn't have his teleport stomp, and that you couldn't make Shokans in kreate a kharacter... Goro, Sheeva, and Kintaro didn't even use their bottom arms except for special moves, so that shouldn't had been an issue.

I also loved Kreate-a-kharacter and spent alot of time with it. I hope they overhaul it in MK9!

Can't really be a failure if the MK team weren't aiming for success

It was not that bad .however the idea behind it did really suck .I mean they brought everyone (even the most hated ones ) then ended up not using them in the story .The story was very limited .It was all about Taven and Daegon (which is the coolest part ).They however brought characters that were not needed .

If they used the most part of the story and connected it to MK:D and then they focused in a smaller roster with needed characters I am sure then that the game would beat MK:D & MK:DA .

It was much of a fan service game and it was badly rushed .But no series in perfect and this game and MKvsDCU taught the team alot .I just want to see how much did they teach the team with MK9 .

I know many people putting MK9 as the last chance for the team .So please Ed plays it well .
