Like what Wanderer's thread has already shown, the MK Team have been putting in the majority of their effort on the alternate gameplay modes such as Konquest and Puzzle Kombat other than the fighting itself. Only "refining" the system, if you can call it that, by implementing a horrible universal combo breaker among other "refining" elements. Which means anything outside of playing against the computer will be... Unpleasant, to say the least. Especially against people that will catch on how to abuse the system.

With that on the table, are the other modes now able to hold Deception up? Do you think they will be good enough to make up for the gameplay flaws? In other words, is there enough fluff and flash to keep you playing or interested?

I know I'll buy the game for being an MK fan and I'm interested in seeing how the extra modes are but I don't know how interested I'll be if this other stuff wasn't worth the price paid for a shoddy gameplay system.

Your thoughts?

The gameplay is not great. You're acting like REAL confirmed gameplay elements have been revieled thus far. Not much has as of yet until now. We knew there would be combo breakers and have the same gameplay as MKDA. What we didn't know is how little they spent on the gameplay and how retarded the combo breakers would be. Now we do.

By the way, it has nothing to do with what Wanderer said. We've been discussing this for months now. Look up some threads and you'll see.

We have seen the gameplay videos. Its the exact same shit as Deadly Alliance. Damn, you're stupid.


I might buy Mortal Kombat: Deception just to play the mini-games, because at this point the fighting engine hasn't gotten anywhere, and I'll probably wait until Tekken 5 for that. Hell, I'm not even that interested in Konquest at this point. So, I'll be spending my time on MAT2, the MK1 disc, and Puzzle Kombat.

Agreed Siduu101 ! And also, its been a long time since I wanted to see an Adventure of MK !! This is why (in my opinion) Mortal Kombat is way better than other fighting games.

Im not getting this game until i see the reviews if this game bombs im going to have to find a new game to love. Its a shame really Boons mid life crisis is hurting us all whats next mortal kombat hungry hungry hippo.

Old news I say. We have seen how many videos and what not to know the only real change was the speed.

If you couldn't see that, and had to actually hear the words, then you're not really good at seeing things.

I feel like im having second thoughtz on thiz game idk why though is this a bad thing?? I mean the characters are great but i wanna see reviews be4 i get it ill probobly just spend time on MK1 and konquest isnt that shaped up

MIDWAY: i hope you please us with this game graphicz wise and i hope you have some tricks up your sleeve make it good sad

everyone acts so shocked about this....i mean honestly...did everyone expect them to concentrate on the fighting when they had all these dumb ass game modes to work on....that's the major downfall of these games....bottom line that why i wasn't...and still am not happy about these dumb ass puzzle and chess games... they took so much time and energy...time and energy that could've been used improving the graphics and the fighting system..but oh..everyone is raving about the new modes..and they are the exact same people who are in a rage about the lack of attention paid to the game play...you can't have it both ways...so now there's a bunch of useless modes and as wanderer put it... deadly alliance 2.0.......but i was happy with deadly alliance...but outside of seeing what the new modes are like...i won't touch em

The Deadly Alliance fighting engine was great. Deception's fighting engine is the same. Therefore, it won't suck. HELLO! Every Street Fighter and Tekken and every other fighting game have the same core fighting engine all the time. Mortal Kombat had pretty much the exact same fighting in MK1-UMK3, and everybody here seems to love those. You guys are stupid!

Y R U all trippin bout the graphics. I konw that they may be the same as MKDA. But look at all the new features the have. If any of yall are thinkin bout finding new fighting games to love then maybe u guys were never really MK fans at all. Besides i dont think they could have made the graphics 10 times better then MKDA because they're gonna be on the same platforms. If u wanna see the graphics get 10 times better then wait for MK7 to come out on next generation systems then yall will be really blown away.

Personally I'm glad its a so called "MKDA 2.0"

MKDA's fighting system was great all it needed was some more bells and whistles like stage fatalities more fatalities more gamemodes. MkDA was pretty good and now they are just building it better so whats the complaining about.

Dude, just because someone isn't dissapointed about the gameplay doesn't mean you have to freaking flame him about it. He's optimistic, so am I, and so are some of the people on this thread. Just because you hate the gameplay is no need to flame others just because they don't.

If you don't like it: Don't buy it. Simple as that.
