Mortal Kombat always make use of this generic system of voices and screams. I like that until Deception, because in Armageddon there are a lot of characters all share the same.
I think that this game, because of less characters, could bring specific voices, like Shaolin Monks. No nothing like "This is not over mortals" (LOL). In that game, every character had their voice.
This should help to make characters more unique. EDITING: How about the narrator? I still can't imagine the voice of Quan Chi or Shao Kahn saying BATMAN WINSSSS, SUPERMAAAN WINSSSS. I gonna LOL when I listen to this.

This is something that I always hated about MK. They always cut corners when it comes to voice acting. It's just honestly pure laziness to have any characters sharing the same voice. In the end it doesn't REALLY matter but damn give your characters some individuality.

Voices are the least of their problems...
I like the announcer from Killer Instinct. Since this game won't have "Fatalities" the announcer should do the "Danger, Danger" taunt, he says it badass. Then again, the announcer from Killer Instinct made everything sound cool. "SUPREME VICTORY! PERFECT!" Hell, that guy could even make "HUMILIATION!" sound so badass.

There really is a lack of presentation with the characters. What, no signature intros? Even the victory poses are usually pretty bland. Add in all the interchangeable voices and it's just more evidence that the absolute minimum effort (and sometimes less) is put into these games.

The announcer in Deadly Alliance/Deception/Armageddon is the same one as in MK4. It's actually Quan Chi's voice, which is why it sounds so "monstery". Quan Chi's always had that bizarre, creepy "so deep it doesn't fit him at all" voice.
Well...except in Mythologies, where it was just Rich Divisio with a bit of a filter.

We wanted to do it. We just ran out of time...

Am I remembering wrong, or was Onaga supposed to be the announcer in Deception? Did that not happen? Did I just dream that?

I have the voice clips on file for side-by-side comparison. But I wouldn't even need them to tell you It's the exact same voice in all of the last four games. It's blatantly obvious.
And it only takes a little observation to notice that it matches Quan Chi's VA exactly. I don't know where you even got the IDEA that it was Onaga, unless you just automatically assume the boss is always the announcer.

I do hope they are going to spend some money on this game on a set of voice actors. They don't have to get a unique voice for every character, but I want Batman to sound like Batman and Joker to be voiced by Mark Hamil.

You would think that with the DC characters, they have no choice but to hire some legit VAs. And we know Midway is at least CAPABLE of incorporating pre- and post-match dialogue because they did it in Shaolin Monks.

I'm pretty sure after they completed MKSM, Himmerick's team became part of the MK team proper and worked on Armageddon.
Speaking of sounds, y'know what pisses me off more than anything? In Deception and Armageddon, the Cyberninjas making human grunts instead of those cool cyborg noises. Man, that makes me rage.

If that's really true, I wonder why Armageddon still sucked so much. Well, if you're handed a sucky engine, miracles probably can't be expected.
But if the MKSM team is now part of the main MK team, and the engine really got build from scratch, then my hopes just went up a tiny bit for this game to turn out decent.

I'm talking about the original intention. Not a misinterpretation of the final product...

And just how the hell would you know the "original intention"?
If we got Quan Chi as the announcer, then unless someone with authority says otherwise, they MEANT for us to get Quan Chi as the announcer. This is NOT one of those situations that you just love to bring up, where someone actually said in an interview "we meant to do it but we ran out of time".
Onaga as the announcer doesn't even make sense. Deception wasn't a tournament. They probably just decided at some point in time on using Quan Chi's voice from now on just because they like Quan Chi's voice. MK hasn't had a real reason to have an announcer since MK2. It's just a gameplay element now, not part of the plot.

They should asign people to do the screams...Get them over to the recording studio or whatever, punch them in the nuts, and see how they scream...

Batman's VA in JL Heroes was movie star Ron Perlman. Granted, he's not A-List like Bale is, and he does voice work all the time, but how much more expensive than that could Christian Bale really be, all things considered? He's no Tom Cruise.
Anyway, I don't think they'd even be allowed to hire Bale. Ed has said DC specifically told them NOT to use the movie version of Batman in the game.
The JLU voice actors are who I'd like most, personally.

I'm hoping it's Perlman in MKvsDCU. He's just overall badass. If not as Batman, than at least as a Batman villain (he's voiced at least five in his career).
Oh, and I'll have to search my old video collection, but I believe I have a work-in-progress clip where Onaga bellows "Finish Him". It sounds vastly different than the announcer in the final product.

The reason Quan Chi is the announcer is because he's an all powerful overseer of all events and it will be revealed in MK vs DC that he is a physical extension of The One Being trying to reform by merging with other dimensions!

Sometimes there are these magic things called "interviews" or "preview articles" or "information leaks"...
did anyone notice that the grunts coming from subzero and batman in the trailer were recycled ones from the past 3 games? :S i hope that was only for the trailer cos i like everyone to have a unique voice unlike armageddon. the only one i wouldn't mind staying the same would be mileena's from deception. her fatality scream was the best!!!

What, really?! I've never heard of an interview before! Gee golly gosh, that changes everything!
Seriously though, can you prove footage exists where any indication of Onaga as the announcer is given, or are you just...y'know...arguing for the sake of arguing? Because it was kinda over and done with already.
