That's a good question. When you said orbs I thought you might have meant the orbs that merge the relams like the one Nitara needed. So I was thinking the Dragon King may have collected them all.

I guess these ones are ones that cause damage to those who get to close to them. They probably are what you said and have the powers of fire, earth, wind and water.

Now that I look more carefully, you are right. That level looks very much like the one of the movie.

Perhaps they resemble some kind of crystals you have to collect in Konquest. Each crystal from a realm. So you can fight the Dk when you got them all. When you beat the DK the arena might be unlocked.

That is a very interesting theory.

I'm going out on a limb here, but maybe they're just scenery. Maybe they don't mean anything signifigant. They're just there to look cool.

I seriously doubt those moving orbs are there to look cool. They look way to odd for that simple function.

I have no idea what those things are but I think there are more then 4. By looking at those screens and videos it looks like they are around the whole circle. And they stand pretty close to each other so there are probable 6 or 8 of those things. Anyway I don’t think they have something to do with the elements but actually I have no clue.

I still think its weird how no one has mentioned this before.

Their is 8 of them and they represent the 8 realms and one of them is nitaras crystal that she needed to get back to her realm. It seems like Dk prisons people in cells, takes crystals to prevent people from other realms to jump him, and kicks the remaining peoples asses.

I think it is a realm orb, you need it to go back to your realm, and he put them on the spikes that way you cant get them. (but DK can because he can fly)

Or... MAybe they do represent elements and he can throw them at you, blue orb freezes you, fire orb explodes taking damage off you and pushing you FAR back maybe into the deathtrap if you are too close to edge, lighting shocks you and stuns you, wind throws you half way across the stage and can easily deathtrap you. I dont know.

I also noticed something else, the people holding the orbs look like shokans to me don't they??

they appear to have 4 arms, i think i also see a frozen guy holding a blue orb, which means it could be the ice orb.

I like the idea of throwing orbs with different elements though, and you can only dodge them which is hard to do or sidestep, instead of blocking the orb.

dont know, but what about the shokan guys holding the orbs, do they look like shokans to you?

and maybe the prison, holds one person from each realm, and those orbs are there tickets home. Thats an awesome theory, really pieces it all together in my head.

On a side note, is it just me, or does this seem to be a very small arena? I see no way to get knocked into a seperate level, unless it's through the floor.

Anyway, with the size of the DK, I predict many many spike deaths, and many many broken PS2 controllers. You just know he's going to smack you around worse than Moloch, and send you flying into those on a regular basis.

yeah he will, its small because it raises the difficulty.

Little observation:
The claw holding the Purple medal looks like it's made out of wood, the one holding the green stone looks like it''s made out of stone, and the one holding the blue thng looks made of ice...
Maybe they represent the 5 asian elements (earth, Metal, Water, Fire,Plant)

What's so sweet and cute about them?

What's the possibility that the DK area has multiple stage fatalities? Each Orb/Arm is a different one. Depending on which one the DK lands you one, you die in that fashion, or get transported someplace to get the fatalities.

I admit that it is a HUUUGE stretch, but would be neat.
