I think its a little early in the game to be having a top ten characters list since we are not even aware of who all the characters are and we've seen even less than the number that have been confirmed. I'll give it a shot anyway just from what I know so far (keep in mind if at any point Reptile is confirmed as a playable character separate of the Dragon King he automatically gets catipulted to the number one spot of my list).

1) Sub-Zero (been one of my favorites since the very first MK)
2) Scorpion (became a big fan of his in MK2)
3) Baraka (I have a thing for characters who look like they'll rip your face off and eat it)
4) Kabal (the original hookswords wielding freakshow back to show Movado how its done)
5) Mileena (see Baraka)
6) Smoke (his character has gone through numerous changes through the series and I am highly anticipating what the do to him now)
7)Ben/Kobra (ok I've got no gameplay to back up this choice but I like the hooded outfit )
8) Ermac (nice to see the original telekinetic back and I like the face bandage look)
9) Noob Saibot (this character always intrigued me and I always saw alot of potential for him, besides he is the only ninja that wheres black as a ninja should)
10)Hotaru (from what I've seen he looks to be a badass fighter plus he uses a Naginata as a weapon and I've always loved that thing)
