Maybe I just don't have high expextations.. but seriously, I don't think there will be anything I would complain about... i'm excited and can't wait for it, and am just happy they're making another game.

For me, graphics is not as realistic as in Tekken 4, or VF4, I'll be dissapointed also if there would be no Kabal, Baraka's blade lift ftality and his MK2 outfit, if he's gonna be as weak as Drahmin and....... If winning stances remain the same for all the characters.

hmz nothing that dissapoints me thus far.. and I'm not the kind of guy that gets dissapointed rather easely (I'm just happy they make a new MK game grin)
but if you really want some examples: I think if they let those nice little details out of the game that can make a game so great! (winning poses, entry shots, not every char has the same scream,..)

As someone here said, there will ALWAYS be disappointments. In DA, I was disappointed to see no new MK4 character but Quan Chi return and I thought Reptile's new look was too goofy, I didn't like Sonya's costume, etc etc... and then, as I began to play, I began to realise that, in fact, I was playing a great game, probably the best MK ever made. From time to time it even made me dip back into that old nostalgic MK2 atmosphere as I was thinking of Outworld or noticing cool little details.

It will be the same with Deception. At first, some things will be disappointing... yes, if some of my favourite characters are not there, or if they forgot to implement some ideas. But I'm very much convinced that the gameplay will rock. All MK's have had a very enjoyable gameplay. I won't complain about MK3 or MK4 either in that respect.

And yes, I thought Shinnok was a Shang Tsung rip-off. And definitely the least impressive MK boss ever ;).

Cheers,
VQ

My disappointment will be that some of you doubted Boon, despite what he haz shown us in the past. Now,look what we have all seen, videos & all. Before,he spoke of many ideas that didn't make it in. He wished to do many thingz, but couldn't get it down, after telling us promises he couldn't keep, in the magazines. However,he did enhance the fighting Xperience 10-fold. Much more strategy was involved with this installment;this was surely more of a thinking man's game. He really stepped up the gameplay for all of us.
beyond that
-no FULL 3D movement
-Bosses being playable(at least off the bat)
-no Fatalz involving bosses
-no Kabal
-Do I really need to say?.... no STAGE FATALZ!!!
...'N' it waitz for you

my disappointment will be unlocking cool arena and character concepts in the krypt that were left out of the game.

seriously though, i hope that special moves will be more easy to integrate into combos. in mkda scorpions spear couldnt really be used in the MIDDLE of a combo because it slowed down the pace too much. i will be a little disappointed if they do not fix that.

I think, the disappointments will be:

- 1 or 2 characters that just plan suck and shouldn’t be there (Lei mi, Bo Rai Cho).
- A few fatalities that aren’t as brutal as others and loose any effect once you’ve seen em once.
- The feeling of going through the paces to unlock everything instead of being enjoyably challenged from beginning to end.
- 1 or 2 changes/improvements to classic characters that outrage the long time ‘true’ fans of the series.
- We’ll find out that Reiko is really Shao Kahn.

the dissapointment has been the community. more worried about fatalities and "kewl" stage fatalities than worrying about gameplay. the mk team will overload it with features from the casual fighting game players point of view (98% of mk players). so we'll end up with another broken mortal kombat game that isn't deep in gameplay.

The exclusion of Shao Kahn, Quan Chi and Reptile from the gameplay will hurt my fragile heart. :(

Other than that, I think this game will rock. I just hope Midway finishes the game first before they work on the mini-games.

That's very true. The only time I complained about Mk1 was when the snes version had no fatalaties. And the only reason I complained about that is because no video game magazine made any mention of that at any time what so ever to my knowledge.

Never once complained about mk 2. Loved the game. It was everything a sequel should be. More characters, more special moves, more fatalaties, more stages, better graphics, gameplay enhancements, great twist to the story line, better sound, etc etc....

I was never a huge fan of MK3 though. Yeah I played it, and even bought it just because it was a MK game but it wasn't as "magical" as MK2. The special moves and fatalaties were just way too over the top and silly. Animalaties were a waste of space. Poor character designs on quite a few new characters. etc etc etc

But yeah, I'm trying hard not to hype myself up for MK6 just yet. I did that with MK:DA and I was let down on quite a few things. But I know Ed won't let it happen again. I know there are gonna be more fatalaties, stage fatalaties, and even more characters. Hopefully the engine will be kicked up a notch in terms of speed. Not too much though I don't want it turning into a button mashing festival like Soul Calibur.

Because there was no prequel to compare it to. No one had any expectations.

the only thing that would have been a disappointment was the fact that some of the chacters wouldnt be in arcade mode, as a matter of fact i wanted to see every fighter in mk history in 3d dont care where they are as long as i get to see them all in 3d and looking different.
i get to see new 3d forms and maybe even new outfits from some of them. all of them are n konquest mode, and boon promsed us that there will not be a final secret, but a COUPLE of final secrets in konquest mode that ppl wont find in a very long time. i mean u have 6 realms, times for all 6, and days and years for all 6 realms. thats alot of GAME TIME, to find a certain someone in the game, and every person in mk history, there specail moves can be used by your monk guy, so if they dont make the game(like u weird styker fans)
they u can still use his moves by giving it to your monk. konquest makes the game impossible to gte mad with, because ppl will be looking for the final secrets proabaly weeks after MK7 comes out, then they will be found. that right there means no disappointment, unless they lyed or didnt have time to put in ALL FIGHTERS FROM MK HISTORY then i would be pissed. and f that puzzle fighter is anything like th popluar street fighter one, gameplay wise, then u will be seeing some truly fun shit. BTW if u see the PSM screens of sub zero, u wouldnt be disappointed nomore like i was with his early screenshots. his helmet looks badass and it doesnt look too much like shredder now.

remeber the first images of scorpion for MKDA, they were ugly ass hell, and look at him now, they changed it dramatically for the better.

and the dragon king wont disappoint me if he is harder then kintoro and mk2 shao khan put together, and if he is huge and looks very badass.

There is a disappointment that hasn't been mentioned yet that i feel may occur and that's to do with the online play. i feel that the current stage of playing online is not upto the requirements that a game such as MK deception will need, i'm refering to speed, lag would play a big factor, in order for it to play as it should they would need to reduce the detail somewhat even then i feel there would be just a hint of lag, enough to not allow a fluid game, in the end i feel the only online thing that would happen would be downloads, i'm hoping i'm wrong but even when you look at most of the online games at the moment there isn't one that doesn't suffer from lag of some kind, in FPS's or RPGs it doesn't matter as much but it would to a beat-em up, and i think the MK team would relise this and save the true online fights till the net has faster access and is more lag free.

I'm sure it will be broadband only which seems to be the direction most games are going. So if it is, then no worry. You will be able to handle a 1v1 fight with minimal effort.

I hope they do have downloadable content with the HDD drive comming this month. Being able to download new character garb, new moves, maybe even new stages. That's pretty exciting when you thinka bout it.
