what happened to raiden?

I thought that the spirit of liu thing was just something Bezou(sorry if i got the name wrong) made up but i saw a picture of raiden on the puzzle kombat screen and he was black with red eyes and i'm absolutley sure it was him. I saw what happened on the intro and everything but did he turn evil or something? wtf is going on? anybody got any info?

Whatever the case he looks kick ass

he looks a little better. I didn't see the flowing electricty though. I'm a fan of the classics so MK1 Raiden will always be favored to me.

Although the Alter. Costume in Deadly Alliance was pretty pimp.

I think he might have turned evil judjing by his new (style). I kinda like him looking evil, he might have like black lightning. Well I've heard that supposedly shang-tsung and quan chi got into raidens body. I doubt this is true but you never know I mean this is Mortal Kombat.
