Is it possible? Can they? The gamecube version has been cancelled. That would suck!
Please dont flame. I dont want enemies here!
I doubt that would happen but if it did can you say RIOT?

If it is the last game, make sure to play it!
If you are stuck with a GC, get an x-box or PS2 to play it. End of Story.

I think if they plan on making the last MK, game they would put all the characters from MK games. Just to see them for the last time. However I don't think Deception is the last game, and if it is then there is going to be a Riot!!!! tongue

No, this wont be the last becuz Boon has already mentioned MK7 so we know there will be a mk7, plus, he also said that there will still be more mortal kombat games with that title, but that they might be other KINds of games like RPG, puzzle etc...so, mk7 will probably be the last fighting game (unless they make another trilogy in 3d which wud be AWESOME) but there will still be other mk games of different genres....he said that in an interview, i think at gamespot, i forgot

I don't think MK Deception is the last game. That would be so wrong to end it. Plus, there's so much going on in MK and it would be just crazy and stupid to stop there with so many unfinished storylines. NO, Deception is not the last MK game.

I seriously doubt the MK:D will be the last MK game. Mortal Kombat is one of the few real money makers Midway still has and it is their one sure-fire series that people will buy if nothing else but loyality for the series. MK:Special Forces for example. Crappy as the game was, there was still people out there willing to buy it only because of the Mortal Kombat part of the title. (Glad I rented it first before wasting my money) What other game does Midway use characters from as secret characters in other games in the hope of increasing sales of that game? Remember football Raiden? Or Scorpion in the new Psi-Ops game?

Midway would be verrrrry foolish to get rid of their #1 game; I mean look at Mega Man and Final Fantasy they went verrrrry far and MK is way better than them!

If they did stop making them; I'd prob. cry myself to death; but I doubt it will be any time soon!

Ya know the more this subject comes up (not just on here, but all over the net), the more likely it could happen so we need to quit talkin abt. it so it won't happen!!! Not being rude, but I want to keep playin MK til my hair either turn's gray like Raiden or bald like Baraka!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It won't be. Ed Boon already talked a little about seven. In one of the interviews from E3 someone asked him about something like online tournaments or downloadable content and he said that would have to wait until MK7.

the only way mortal kombat deception can be the last game is by not making a lot of money on deception that is the only reason they might not have another mortal kombat game if it becomes a greatest hit for ps2 or whatever it becomes for xbox then they will have another mk game

Just remember all good things must come to an end. How much longer can they keep pushing it before it becomes played out? (OLD)winkwink

Depends on how well they balance keeping old characters (for old-school players like me) and bring in new ones (For those who insist on a MK: New Generation). There is also how well the storyline and gameplay developes. Unlike the Street Fighter series, MK has a great storyline and gameplay that continues to develope in the right direction. Maybe not as fast as we may like, but in the right direction. Hmmmmm....what was the general storyline in the Street Fighter series anyway. It was so boring I forgot what it was. Loved the SFII gameplay back in the days of SNES though.

That would be fine by me. I'm only hanging on to my PS2 because of MKD anyway.

I agree with the above post...plus I suggest that you continue doing your research on EdBoon inteveiws(*looks around*)..anyone here have any links to any of the Interviews?...there are a number or them on different mags web sites ,like Game Informer etc...when asked about downloadable content Boon replied that there just wasnt enough time to fully implement it into the game ,so it will be put into the next version, which wouldnt surprised me if that version(MK7)wasnt the last one ,due to the means,of being able to constantly update ,and add new characters, finishing moves, levels etc...it would never get old!
