Sub-Zero, Scorpion, and Raiden are the holy trinity in the MK universe. I don't think it would be an MK game without all 3

They could do it sometimes I think that people just like them for their moves. But we have some backup characters:

FROST
SMOKE

But I think Raiden could die and Fujin take his place. If Sub-Zero finishes business in MKD then he could go and I guess Scorpion will never go. I hope that MK7 will introduce completely new heroes and bring back a couple classics like Scorpion and Reptile.

If there's one thing 12 years of MK playig has taught me it's that you don't mess with the characters. If you kill them, you have to bring them back eventually. So it's better just to let them be.

It won't happen, but if it did, I think their fans would be really pissed and might not play MK again. Although, I'm sure they have other faves to play as.

If I had to pick. I say get rid of Scorpion. Not permanently but at least fix his story and give it a new twist. And please, stop making him die and return from hell every time.

a lot of people hated frost and smoke, cuz theyre ripoffs of sub and scorp, just think what would happen if the ripoffs took the place of the originals

They can't get rid of Scorpion. He is "The Heart and Soul of Mortal Kombat" and the most popular character by far. If they would leave him out for even one game, the fans would be furious and that game wouldn't sell a lot of copies. Remember MK3 ? The fans were after Boon and Tobias' blood. They can't make the same mistake twice.
Besides, you can never destroy Scorpion. Even if you actually manage to kill him, he'll only come back from the dead over and over again. He's like Kenny...

Scorpion is already dead. But I wish someone would banish him form existence altogether. He sucks and his constant quests for revenge are getting old.
Sub Zero seems quite prominent in story lines at the moment so I dont think they would kill him off any time soon.

NEWS FLASH:

Scorpion has been dead since the series started, and "Sub-Zero" has died once already.

Might aswell get rid of Kitana too then.. No point in her flashing teh blue outfit anymore.

Kill scorpion? Never. Like others say, where there is sub zero, there is scorpion, but i'm starting to get confused here. in the endings of MK4, sub zeros is free of scorpion's curse, and his new enemy is quan chi. In away, sub-zero and scorpion are so different, yet so similar. They both have their own history together, and storylines apart from each other.
i agree, get kitana outa here..lol// for some reason, fighting with a female makes me feel weak, and i doubt there are many female players out there that are in this MK legacy.

it shocked the hell outa me when they killed lui Kang in MKDA. i don't understand it one bit. and how is lui kang back from the dead in Deception?

i also keep getting mixed up with The Mortal Kombat movies, and the mortal kombat games. in the movies there are 2 brother sub zeros. but in the game, i can almost gurantee you they just wanted to give sub zero a new look in mk3.
As for scorpion, yeah.. his body always dies, but his soul will always live on to return. and why the hell does scorpion die in MKDA.. wut the hell.
