A few things to consider here...

Shujinko's bio said he was on a mission to find the Kamidogu. It never said he actually came to posses the amulet.

If the Elder Gods were expecting Shujinko to return with the amulet, then why send out Scorpion after it as well?

But, at the same time, why is Scorpion listed as a foe to Shujinko then? Was he told to wait until Shujinko had the amulet and then steal it from him? What purpose would that bring to the Elder Gods?

I really hope this time that MK:d has a progressive story line. Not just a character bio then ending.

I think you stole my idea.

I dunno about Scorpion being used by them to steal Shinnok's amulet, but I do think that the Elder Gods have become corrupt. They showed little to no interest in helping the mortals during MK3-MK:Deadly Alliance. Raiden even blew them off when they refused to help in the war against Quan Chi and Shang Tsung, even after they opened a portal to the Heavens in order for Shang to use the souls inside it to consume and/or revive the Dragon King's army. I truly believe that the Elder Gods will eventually abandon Earth (if they haven't already), and Raiden and his gang will eventually have to fight them.

Well whatever the hell the Kamidogu is, it still must have some sort of power that the Elder Gods want for their own doing.

It would be interesting if this was the case. They made want to balance out the good in Raidens acts as he has been interefering against their wishes. Having Scorpion carry that out would be great, but why they would want to undo any good is a mystery. I don't think they would do that. I'm sure sure what it is they're up to, if they are up to anything at all. But I think they may finally have some decent involvement in the story for once.

This is one of the few ideas that I've seen on the forum that I genuinely like the sound of. Although I don't know if they could really become evil, I do think that they could potentially give Scorpion insanely strong power... that could be dangerous I suppose! Imagine a fight between suped-up Scorpion and Super Sub Zero :D

Maybe it isnt all the gods that become corrupt...maybe its like 2 or 3 of them that actually made the agreement with Scorpion and havent let the rest of the Gods know and will eventually wait for the right time to strike and control the realms
