A thread like this should go into this forum.
But to answer your question...thats a tricky one
I guess i'll go with Deception because the gameplay was much more balanced and the game itself felt more complete then Armageddon.

deception. better konquest mode, better mini games, better story, better everything.

By far deception. Bought and resold MKA. Barely touched the thing. I still have my copy of MKD.

Deception. Shouldn't this go in the 2000-2006 forum?

deception, alot of things were better than armegeddon, konquest mode definatly better, it just doesnt feel right when playing MKA, i dont know why but deception has a better feel for it. even the opening movie was better i think, the story behind it all isnt better than deception

Armageddon.

Armageddon is ideal for wanting to play as everyone. I like it alot because of the inclusion of every fighter. Aside from that, I have to go with Deception. Like others said, it's Konquest was a lot better, story was better, and it was more balance IMO. But then again, how balanced can an "Armageddon" be?

If you want a game with tons of characters, air battle, a too easy Konquest Mode, the ability to create your own character,an ok Kreate Your own Fatality system, and a Mario Kart Ripoff go for Armageddon
If you would prefer a smaller kast of kombatants, no air battle, an expansive story driven konquest mode, a Chess Minigame, A Puzzle Fighter ripoff, a good Fatality/Hara-Kiri system, Go for Deception
It's all up to what you choose

Deception had a complete story, complete design, decent gameplay, well-thought-out konquest mode, real gameplay in the mini-games, actual finishers, and better unlockable content.
Armageddon had sloppy-looking gameplay, sloppy design, a shitty story, a mini-game with wannabe gameplay, bland konquest, and no real finishers. The only think I credit MKA for is the KAK mode - the only thing that entertained me about it.
Deception clearly wins.

Armageddon.
what......I liked it.
Except for the Konquest. I like Deception's Konquest 100X better.

Deception because of the Style Branch Combos really made for some cool combos and the Hari-Kari was pretty cool to.

All replies in this thread remind me of the wise words...."casual player".
Deception is garbage,Armageddon has the "nostalgia factor" of bringing all characters in one game....and that's it.

Deadly Alliance has much more fluid gameplay and cleaner graphics than Deception, wich is odd but true.
Deception's gameplay is broken as fuck. I used to play a lot of Deception, but now that i got my hands on a copy of Deadly Alliance, i can say to you that in terms of gameplay, Deception is a lame try at expanding Deadly Alliance, but resulted in an inferior game. Deadly Alliance is by far the best MK game in years, and without a doubt, overall the best 3D MK game to date.
As for Armageddon, hmm... fuck aerial kombat and kreate a fatality, but i kind of like the way it tries to emulate the classic 2D gameplay, and the kreate a fighter feature is heaven sent.

About Me
When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yes sir, the check is in the mail."

Jack Burton says MK: Deception. Enough said.

I'd choose Armageddon simply because of the roster. But Deception plays much better.

By a mile. Mind you, I like all three for various reasons. Armageddon was Trilogy two 3D. Made minor strides in the fighting mechanices (first game with actual wake up) but air kombat felt really bad. Motor Kombat was a bad idea in the same way that buying a mario kart game for full price is a bad idea, once you've played the all the tracks once or twice, it gets OLD REALLY FAST. Kreate a Fighter was.....a first try at a Kreate a Fighter. It was not nearly as deep as it should've or could've been, but hey, at least you could make "old" Shang Tsung. Konquest sucked(although I've never been a fan of it anyhow).
Decepition was a fun game. I'm not nearly a pro at it by any stretch, but i've seen the infinites like everyone else enough to know the game was pretty broken. But, it had a fun cast of characters, some of the best fatalities of the series, and a kick ass intro video. The mini games had much more replay value then motor kombat (especially puzzle fighter for me). Again, I don't care for Konquest at all(especially this one, not that the story or gameplay was bad, but just for the mere fact that it introduced Shujinko).
Deadly Alliance is easily at the top of the list in terms of just about everything. The story kicked SO MUCH ASS. Liu Kang...murdered in the first minute. Shao Khan killed(which was poorly retconned later), Kung Lao looked ready to take center stage finally. Gameplay rocked. the only thing I can think that was a detrement would be the impales. Moloch was cheap, but would we want anything else out of our sub-bosses? The boss fights, well, were pretty average. If ever there was a time they should've implemented the tag team thing (ie Noob-Smoke) it should've been for the Quan Chi/ Shang Tsung boss battle. Fatalities were...o.k. A horrible version of the soul steal and one of the top 3 worst fatalitites ever (Quan Chi's neck stretch) were the stinkers in this one. Konquest was more of a tutorial then a mini game, which I actually liked.
But yeah....Deadly Alliance>Deception>Armageddon....Aren't things supposed to improve with age....or is that wine and not fighting engines?
