What is Scorpion's other purpose as in choosing sides:Raiden or DK?

Ive wondered that if he would choose sides to ally Raiden or side with the Dragon King other than kill Quan Chi....
I don't think Scorpion needs to ally with anyone..

He's always out for someone's blood, other than that he wouldn't even exist. That's what I love about Scorpion.
