Just before MKD came out I started playing MKDA to get all ready for it. I had recently purchaced a Madcaz controler to replace the one I had recently broken. I worked when I got it but when I started playing MKDA it wouldn't work right. So I figured out I had to hit the mode button after the game started and everything would be OK. Seamed though like the controler might have been a dud. Then I get MKD and try and use the controler which refuses to work at all. I figure the controler is shot. I bought a dud.
Before I went off and replaced the thing I figured I should play something else just to make sure it was the controler. I never had any problem with the old one, but after a few quick VF4 rounds It looks like it is the MK games! WTF is that? I cant say the controler isn't maybe a little bit at fault when my old one worked fine on MKDA, but it only freaks out on the MK games. Did they deliberatly make the game to not work with some generic controlers? If so I have only 2 words to that, 1)Bull 2)Shit. Or perhaps its the controler makers fault. To which I'm tempted to use the same 2 words.
I like My Madcatz contolers. They fit me juuust right and are quite sturdy. Coming in at 10$ cheaper than a offical PS2 controler that I don't like near as much its a good deal. Anyone else had any troubles with controlers and MKDA/MKD ?
This earns one of these-
OK, Maybe 2 ->

i remember hearing 3rd party contolers dont work with MKDA. Guess the same goes for MKD. Hopefully not every 3rd party controler is like this.
not the same exactly, but i got mkda 6 months before deception on Gamecube, then bought a ps2 2 days ago for deception online, but this controller for ps2 is kinda small, and hard to control the characters overall move, ( not online yet ) thanks to gamecube! lol, got me all fucked up now, im almost hitting X instead of square for combos with that punch, look at a gamecube controller, youll see.. its fuckin better too, no wonder i used to own so bad at mkda, fuck, i wish they was a way to play with that controller on ps2, is there?????????????????????
Mkd on Ps2 S U C K S
i hate the fact you cant make 2 buttons block, that REALLy bothers me, but fuck it i guess

Nope, I haven't had this problem, but I don't have a Ps2, nor do I use 3rd party controllers. They're cheap and faulty, at least all the Mad Katz controllers I ever used are. I just stick with the OFFICIAL equipment meant for the system.

The Madcatz contolers I have had for both Gamecube and PS2 are super sturdy compaired to the offical controlers. It took a lot of work to break the PS2 controler. How well built it was, was the very first thing I noticed about it. My offical PS2 controler is kinda loose at this point and I've hardly ever used it. My friend that is a very large dude probably plays real rough so I blame him.
Madcatz also has a ps1 controler that cost like 2-5 bucks but that one is a piece of crap, but it does only cost 5 bucks or less.
As far as sticking with official equipment made for a system. All those parts are made for the system. The problem is when they try and rig things so its difficult to make a 3rd party device so you are more or less forced or at least "inclined" to buy from the original maker. Companies hate it when someone else starts steping in on thier sales and they can no longer charge whatever they want. The more a company fights compeditors the less I want to buy from them.
