agreed. I find few MK chacerters in MK games to be weak, but Stryker takes the cake. In MK3 he was weak.In UMK3 he got a bit better with his gun attack. In MKT he got even more powerful with his double bomb attack. To me Styker has the potenial to be a good fighter in a future MK game

Nightwolf, by far. He is the ideal wise-man in the game, and although I wasn't crazy about his story, all he really needs is some character interactment and that should bring the best out of him plotwise. I could imagine him within the Lui's old circle(Cage, Sonya, Jax, Raiden). His weapon would be a hatchet, obviously.

My second choice would be Rain, although I still think he was worthless. Nothing about him appealed to me. My theory is that the mk team wanted to have a ninja in every color, and they stopped after Rain because they realized how stupid the idea was. Sorry if this offends anyone, but it's my honest opinion.

As posted in the other thread about Rain, I think they should bring him back with a new look, new moves, new fatalities, and a new story. Then he would be awesome. Rain is always one of my favorites.

Rain, Ermac and Noob Saibot if they have new looks, basically, no longer ninja pallet swaps.

I wasn't very impressed with Kai, in fact I usually forget about him altogether, so if he came back better than ever, I wouldn't mind.

Another is Tanya and, well, if she came back as a pissed-off girl looking to settle a score with the Earth warriors and with new abilities, I wouldn't mind seeing her too.

Rain, Ermac, Kabal, and Baraka I would like to see back, but nothing changed about him. And of course, Shao Kahn.

I'd like to see Ermac and Rain come back. Ermac just needs a new suit or even he should keep his old costume because he would be the only one in an onld school ninja suit.

Rain as long as he isn't purple or as bad looking as he was. I used to love using rain but his purple was kind of fruity.

Actually, I would not have minded rain so much if he was a darker purple. The color purple is cool by me. But the way he was in trilogy was more of a lavander, which is really funny-looking on a ninja.

So, if I understand you Grimm, you want a completey different character to come back, yet be called Rain? What's the point? Just say that you want a new character and that you acknowledge that Rain was worthless.

I do think that Stryker could be made cool. Perhaps as a member of the Special Forces? Krav Maga should definetely be his style.

Grimm never said Rain was worthless. That would be me, and if it is me you're reffering to, then allow me to explain.

The way he stood in trilogy, yes, he was worthless. His looks were ripped from the ninjas, his moves were hack-versions of Raidens, and beyond the fact that he was a general for Kahn, we don't know shit about him. But it doesn't have to be that way. Perhaps if he had an expanded story with more in-depth details, and new costume(he can still be a ninja just unique), and some original moves, he might actually be cool.

my vote goes to Kai(unless you count Baraka & Kabal as lame)
with Kung Lao seemingly the new hero of the plot, the White Lotus Society has some important foot work to do in the wake of Kang'z demise. He's a tribal-lookin' dude who could have an interesting plot/background if they give it a chance.

Stryker would fit perfectly with S.F.'s team.

Jade! She just needs a new look and storyline independant of Kitana and then the MK team need to focus her styles assassin training and her staff. And also, they need to emphasise more on her staffs power and its abilities.

Also, i think Kia,Noob Saibot, Nightwolf and Jarek. Ya ya, i know most of you hate Jarek, but he is a cool character. His story was awesome, but most people didn't like him because he fought like kano. If you just have the cannon ball attack or a variation of it, and then give him his own moves and fatalities( i hated the fact he didn't have his own trade mark fatatly), he would be a good character.

Heck with it. Most of the characters that people find lame just are lacking a good plot. Just an improvement on that is all we need.

Storyline: becomes a general for Kitana's armies (maybe not a great idea but I'm being brief for now like I said)

Fighting styles:

Gyokko Ryu (1 of the 9 schools of Bujinkan Ninjitsu. it is the school of the jeweled tiger)

Hop Gar (Lion's Roar Kung Fu): Fierce and strong

Weapon: Perhaps a spiked mace or a battle axe would do

special moves: The 3 that he had in MKT plus some more (I'll add more to this when I think up of some)

Fatalities: I'll come back later on this one

Noob Saibot

Storyline: something perhaps connected to Quan Chi and some other characters

Fighting Styles:

Koga Ryu (one of the 3 main Ninjitsu Ryu) origins are from China and that of the Black Dragon Tong (a society similar to the Lin Kuei) Noob kind of looks like a Koga Ninja too

Tien Tae-jitsu: conglomeration of styles such as Ninjitsu, Tae Kwon Do, Kodokan Judo, Jujitsu, Tien Shan Pai Kung Fu, Hapkido, etc. Should have lots and lots of moves in it.

Weapon: Kusarigama (chain and sickle; great Ninja weapon and it can very intuitive by acting as either one or both combined for multiple uses; should be very hard to master)

special moves: the ones he had from MKT along with a dark energy blast projectile move

Fatalities: not sure yet...

I'll have more later.

Rain. I always thought his power was pretty cool.

Ermac. He's always been my favorite of the Ninjas, followed by Scorpion, and then Smoke. Telepathic powers are awesome, and the fireball's cool as hell. Plus, the red outfit just kicks ass.

And whatever weapon they give him. Give him some kickass fatalities, too. I always thought the one they gave Kenshi would match Ermac better, but it would suck to see it recycled.

And Nightwolf...I always thought he kicked ass, and his style in UMK 3 makes me love him. Plus, his fatalities are some of the coolest, IMO.

Perhaps, I wasn't understood. What I'm saying is that it's comical that people want characters back only to completely change them.

For example: "I love Rain he's awesome. He just needs a completely new look, moves, story, etc."

Well, apparently he wasn't so "awesome" if you want to change EVERYTHING about him. So if you didn't like ANYTHING about him: Why do you want him back?

Characters like Rain, Ermac, Ninja Smoke, Chameleon, Khameleon, Meat, etc. offered nothing to the games. None of them had original moves, weapons, stories, apperances, etc. They can hardly be considered characters. Thus I have to wonder why people are so dying to see them again?

well this thread is about if you got to improved a character that you think he is lame or others think he is lame.


Many people think that Stryker is a lamer. Well I enjoy play as Stryker So a three set and minor changes would do him some good.

A possible storyline that Stryker had a girlfriend and she was a informent for the Special Force cocerning about the Black Dragon because she was one because her mother was a black dragon member and her father was a red dragon member. Her parent grew to hate the Black Dragon for everything for the Black Dragon stands for.
The girlfriend had dedicated her life to the Red Dragon as well as her mother had did. One Day a upstart named Mavado killed her mother for he knew that the mother was a former black dragon member. Although the battle was firece, Mavado came out the victor. The girlfriend knew that she betray the Red Dragon she will die. She knew about the adopted older brother of Mavado, the Wicked and the fanatic Hsu Hao. Hsu Hao is loyal unto the leadership of the Clan and its ideals.
When Mavado was in command of the Red Dragon, He order Hsu Hao and the girl to join Special Forces and under the Leadership of Sonya and Jax so they can destroy Special Ops Base. The girl has connections in the Black Dragon, she has told the Special Forces where they were. The girl had also pay many Black Dragon members to work for her and when she didnt need them, She will tell the Special Forces where that member or members were. During the Invasion of EarthRealm, she met and fall inlove with a defender named Stryker. After the invasion, she and Stryker start to train together at the Special Force Base. She died in the explosion with many of the Special ops members and a few of the Red Dragon spies. Mavado ordered Hsu Hao not to tell the other spies because they were endanger the mission and the new alliance with Quan Chi. While both of them were sadden with this order, Hsu Hao completed the mission and he faithfully returned to his master and Quan Chi. Hsu Hao had found out that Quan Chi had order Mavado to order him to denaote the bomb with the Red Dragon spies inside as a test of loyality. Althought he is angry at this because he had fallen inlove with the girl which has been working with. During this time, Styker was tending to the injured and the dying. He had found his girlfriend on the ground dying where she had push him into the room before the bomb went off. With a fit of Rage, he wanted to join Jax to personally to ripped Hsu Hao's throat out because he and him were training buddies at the YMCA and he hated the thought of a friend doing it. He sworn revenge but Jax had to search for Hsu Hao and this Red Dragon clan. Stryker told Everything about Red Dragon which his girlfriend told him. He said there was spies at the base what she told him but he tried to find out but Hsu Hao had covered his tracks as well as the girl to the point that Stryker. She had told him before she died that she didnt know that the base was going to be destroyed.

MassDeath. Look at Rain, Would you? His story is one line long, And he's the 100th freak'n palette-swap ninja! Jeez. Maybe he could have a better story. Y'know, More indepth? And like i said, Too many ninjas. He needs an original look... But with purple, It's his theme. And the only reason that i'm giving Rain my optimism is because i just saw a pic of Rain without his mask on from the cartoon several days ago and i thought he looked pretty cool with his Keanu Reeves hairdo

Rain with new moves, a new look, and a new history would be almost like making a new character altogether..wait a minute..it would be making a new character altogether!
I can't see whats not to understand about that.

Styker. I kicked ass with him in the "3's". I also like his storyline, because he seemed to be dragged into the whole mess against his will.

I would like to see an improved costume (maybe something that looked more like a costume and less like what the motion capture guy stumbled out of bed in), and some improved moves.

Bring some chicks back like Jade or Sindel. Jade was good but she looked like all the other female ninjas.
