I know, I know, another arena thread...

But I want you to consider this one in its intended context - as arenas and backgrounds for chess kombat . Not just fighting areas, but backgrounds for the actual chess game. Consider the mood and ambiance the particular stage sets. Here are some of my choices and why I think they would work:

Living Forest (MK2)
This is obvious. Trees surround the "chessboard" and an eerie mist floats about the pieces.

Jade's Desert (UMK3)
The chessboard is surround by a sea of sand.

Shao Khan's Throne Room (UMK3)

Graveyard (MK3)
Gravestones surround the playing field. The same mist as in the Living Forest. This may have already been confirmed, I'm not sure...

Lung Hai Temple (MKDA)
Two words - floating chessboard!

Warrior's Shrine (MK1)
Golden statues.

Church (MK3)
This would be nice with the stained glass and candles...

To the best of my knowledge there are only three confirmed chess kombat arenas - the Deadpool, the Portal and the Courtyard. So you know there gotta be at least two more in store. Maybe it will be one of these. Or maybe one of your choices. Speaking of which...

House of Peraka - The hail storm rains onto the chess board and the hooded ghosts appear randomly throught the chess game.

The Pit (MK1) - The chess game will take place at the left corner of the pit. The witch and Santa randomly fly around the chess board as you play.

ummm well, im gonna add a little bit to your knowledge lol. The pit was confirmed in a recent interview to be one of the classic stages (how couldnt it be?) and the graveyard stage can be seen in early pics of the chess mode. The one I want back for sure is the living forest and ill be set.

I would like to see the pit2 from MK2 in 3D. What they could do is make the bridge wider by changing the proportion, this way it can be fought in 3D. And do the same for the Pit1.

I want to see the Netherealm from UMK3. I thought that was a great stage, and the Soul Chamber from UMK3.
