When will we see the confirmed MK:D characters??

Smoke, Jax, Rayden, Dairou, Kira, Liu Kang, the new sub boss, Kabal, and Sektor have all been confirmed by various magazines, internet sites, interviews etc, yet all we've seen from any of these characters is one crappy drawing of Kira.

I don't want to sound ungrateful for the E3 coverage. It was great, and the mods pretty much got EVERYTHING that could be had from the show. But these characters (not to mention rumored characters like Quan Chi, Sonya, Skab, Shang Tsung, etc) have been talked about for some time now, and we've seen nothing of them.

Does anyone know which of these characters are still confirmed, which have been disproven as rumors or bad press? The longer we wait, the more worried I get that some of these characters (most notably Kabal and Sektor) won't be in the game. I know that Boon and co don't want to tip their hand completely and show us everything months before the game release, but it seems like there was a constant flow of information up until E3 and now the newsline is dead.

So why would the MK team confirm some of these characters and not show them at all since confirmation? The news on these characters has nothing to do with E3, so why the apparent lid on all news? Anyone care to venture a guess, or a rant?

I remember when MK3 first came out, we knew practically nothing about it (granted, this was before the Internet) except that there was going to be a new character called Nightwolf, a female Shokan who didn't have a name, Queen Sindel and Kano and Sonya were going to be back. There were rumours that Cyrax was going to be revealed as a robotic version of Scorpion but those proved to be false.

So basically, we're lucky to know as much as we do. tongue

I remember right before MK2 came out. The rumors inflated the game a bit. Rumor was that there were 14 characters (Probably including Sonya and Kano in that total), and 5 fatalities per character. Obviously those finishing moves included Babalities, Friendships, and Pit Fatalities.
