Shang Tsung have stole Liu Kang spirit, if Liu is playable in MKD as a ghost-zombie, maybe Shang Tsung was killed, but nothing is official yet
heres the thing. if they ARE in it they wont release the fact that they r (at least not in some random screenie anyway) because they r mucho important to the plot and would spoil part of the plot for deception. the games opening cinematic will reveal all, but till then (either when the game is released or they release the cinema in a trailer, like they did last time which i doubt they will) we can only speculate
what the fuck are you talking about!!! shang didnt change forms, that is the DK on the cover of the deception boxart u fool.
Also the DA isnt dead, and they were suppose to kill off raiden to make quan chi look like the greatest MK fighter of all time, and unstoppable, but instead since they plan on bringing back a fan fav like raiden they rather have him die in a way where he can get resurrected again(somehow), so they have him use some sort of spirit bomb to blow the DK into bits but DK is immune to the affect and raiden "kamikazied himself and had no affect on the DK" they should change that storyline case it reminds me of suicide bombers like al cheda.
Anyway peace out. the DA is alive and well and they won the tournament if there was one in MKDA, first time the baddies win, they did get their souls and got the Dk alive and well so they suceeded so peace out.

I really hope they both return will at least just Shang but i would love for the Deadly Alliance to make one more apperance and try to over rule the DK or something

Actually, I've got a horrid feeling that the Dragon King will kill the DA in the intro. Don't ask me why. It's just a feeling.

Rumor I heard was that Quan Chi is currently hiding from his many enemies and he's hired Baraka as his bodyguard.
Shang Tsung I've heard nothing.

Hmm, how about this :
The DA succeeded at reviving the DK, but Shang Tsung had a more sinister plan.
He planned on devouring the soul of the DK in order to become invincible.
This, however, did not work according to plan, because Quan Chi betrayed Tsung by disrupting the soul steal ceremony. The distraction was too much for Shang Tsung and he lost control over his power and the DK devoured Tsung's soul instead, thus releasing some of the souls that Tsung captured during his previous battles. (Lui Kang's soul
)
Inside the DK the battle rages on between Tsung and the DK's soul/mind.
The DK recognises the hatred versus Quan Chi and he hunts after the poor sorceror down.
By battling Tsung and the failure of the ceremony, the DK is weakened, thus he has lost his invincibility, but this does not mean he's a pushover.Quan Chi is in hiding, but might be selectable after defeating the DK, or via some other method.
The deception is the deception of Quan Chi, among others.
The other storylines can coincide with this though.
Then again, these are just my $0.02, so feel free to discuss

The Deadly Alliance NEVER try to resurrect the Dragon King, only HIS ARMY! (This is the big fail, but not the only...)
This a good fantastic theory, but erroneus real theory...

I still stand by my theory that when Shang was defeated by whoever won DA, his soulnado was destroyed, and all the pure souls escaped his body and returned to the Heavens. This caused Shang to lose his youth and become the old man we see on the select screen. Of course, it could be Shunjiko, but Shang is much more interesting.
As for Quan, there's a couple bald people on the select screen, but other than that, I got nothing. I don't think he's dead though, he's too interesting and fresh of a character to be gone.

Shang stealing the DK's soul? That's proposterous. If Shang attempted to devour the soul of the Dragon king I doubt he would succeed. Cuzz the Dragon King is supposed to be A Bad@ss and I would imagine his power would be too strong for Shang Tsung.

You can't equate Scorpions presence in this game, with Quan Chi being alive.
They will find ways, and reasons to keep Scorpion alive...no matter what.
Who knows what happened to Shang and Quan, we'll probably find out once MK: D is released.

I'm sure the deadly alliance didn't win. I don't think anybody won. Apparently, the DK showed up in the middle of the conflict.
Either way, the Dragon King's presence in no way supports the idea that the Deadly Alliance won. They only wanted to revive his armies, not the DK himself.

Yeah...it doesn't matter really, the DA story could have gone so many different ways, with so many different results, we just won't know until we're playing the game, and reading all the bios, endings, etc.
The DA easily could have survived without winning...it's happened millions of times before, it will happen again.
