| You-Know-Who Wrote: Scorpion I know this may be an unpopular move by me, but I can really see this being the final curtain for the yellow renegade. I can see Scorpion finally fulfilling his purpose and fading into The Heavens. Let's face it, Scorps isn't that cool anymore. Sure he's got that "badass" feel about him, but he's fading out and I think Ed Boon would rather see the Scorpion light put out rather than fizzle out. Sub-Zero I predicted this at the start, and I'm sticking with it being a possibility. I can see Shujinko being defeated by the Dragon King, but then Sub-Zero fighting and killing the Dragon King himself. He could pass away due to injuries, or he could be attacked by Scorpion afterwards. Maybe even he could exert so much of his power he passes on. I'd also like to see the Dragon Medallion speed up and take his life by old age. How fitting would it be if Sub-Zero was consumed by ice, just like the unwise Frost? Or Sub-Zero may simply lose the Dragon Medallion. I can see Sub-Zero "killing" the Dragon King, only for Subby to chuck away the Medallion, and the DK able to revive himself using it. Sub-Zero would then return to his young form, and his weaker powers. Sindel I can see a few people finishing the Sindel story. Raiden is one of my favs for the title of Sindel slayer. That would be a great betrayal. Another is Tanya. Another is the Dragon King. I can see about 5 people challenging and losing to the King. I can see Sindel being one of them. My absolute favourite to the role is Kitana. I've always been pulling for a "heel turn" from Kitana. She was trained to be an assassain, and I can see Kitana either becomming consumed by the Dragon King's tyranny, or Kitana just wanting to be Queen. I'd love to see Liu Kang retire to The Heavens, simply because he can not bare to face Kitana, even if she is heading to Earthrealm with the Dragon King. I mean think about the ending. Sindel just batted throgh one of the toughest fights of her life against the Dragon King. She opens Kitana's cell only for Kitana to stab her mother with one of her fans (which she has in the cell). She then brutallly murders her mother and disposes of her body. Kitana then either rules by herself or with Rain, Shao Kahn, Baraka, Liu Kang, Mileena, Jade or the Dragon King. Jade I'd rather see her die than Tanya. Sindel, Kitana, the Dragon King or any other character could do this. ANyone else think it would be a good twist to have it revealed at her death that she was the one who assassinated the Dragon King last time, and the one allowed Shao Kahn to gain control of Outworld, and to invade Edenia? Shang Tsung This is a yes and no for me. Shang Tsung is a great sorceror, right? I reckon it would be interesting to see him put a spell on himself so that his soul remains active in any plain he chooses after he dies. I'd like to see his soul then enter Tanya's body, allowing Tanya to become the first female sorceror in MK to date. Li Mei I can't see her dying, but I can see her sitting out MK7. I think it would be an interesting kink in the story to have her be revealed as Shang Tsung's daughter. Her soul is put in the Dragon King's last soldier, allowing the army to rise once again. When Shang Tsung realises what he has done, however (as he possessed her soul even if it was for a brief moment), he allows Li Mei freedom, and allows her soul to take over the Dragon King's soldier's body (or simply they can have her return to her old one) allowing her to look like she does today. She wears the helmet in tribute to her father who is executed by Skab (The DK's Executioner). With one member of the Dragon King's army non-existant, the army is able to be defeated, which it is by Raiden's immortality sacrificing blast. Anyway, Li Mei eventually ends up finding out her father lives inside Tanya, but so does the imprisoned Shao Kahn, who breaks free in a rage and attempts to kill the two. Tsung summons up his powers however, and transports he and his daughter to his island or something. Raiden I think it would be awesome to have Raiden die at the hands of the Dragon King in this game. Probably won't happen, though. Baraka I can see Kitana, Mileena, The Dragon King, Raiden or Bo' Rai Cho doing this. Baraka is yet to taste the death he dishes out, so I think it would be interesting to have him die in this installment. Sonya Blade I can see her being made a sacrifice of in either the start or finish of the game's story. |
this guy over here is pretty much all for most character dying

No, not at all. These are just possibilities. 9 characters aren't most. Besides not all of them will die, but that's how the series continues, via death.

Stop saying Scorpion and Sub-Zero will die! Boon said as long as he is making the games, Scorpion and Sub-Zero will be in it!

In MY opinion:
Sindel will only "die", but at the end, we will discover she is still alive. I dont see her going any time soon.
Now:
Kitana has a high chance of saying good-bye.
Kano will be gone.
Quan Chi will finally loose.
And scorpion...because he always does.

I think Shang Tsung's dead or dying.
Kano's gone too.
I think Jax will die.
Reptile will go with the Dragon King.
Raiden looks like he's headed towards the end of the line.
I think the current Sub-Zero will have to pass the mantle soon.
If Liu Kang is back, hopefully it'll be for one last purpose that will be finished in this game. Afterward he should move on.
And IMO, if Kitana dies, Sonya should die too. Keeping it fair.

I agree with the people that say Subby and Scorpion should die. I have nothing against them, but they have been there for a long time, and they have lost their "touch." Seeing them get replaced with sucessors in my opinion useless. They were "one-of-a-kind' characters and fi they die, Midway shouldn't give their powers to a new character, or similar powers. Create new characters, more original. If they do die though, they should bring in a new character that can parallel Subby or Scorpion in strength, but with a very different fighting style.
Also, as for the female fighters, I personally don't want to see Kitana die. But all odds seem to point to her end. Most of the Deception story does seem to have to do with Kitana, with a lot of the returning characters being associated with Kitana, (i.e. Sindel, Mileena, Jade).

Because Kitana and Sonya are arguably the most popular female characters. I have no problem with Kitana sitting out a game and returning some other time, but why should Kitana fans be screwed over while Sonya fans go on unscathed?
I think if Kitana fans get screwed, Sonya fans should be screwed too.
I like Jade and Sindel, and I'm glad they're getting a chance to develope, but they're not Kitana. Nor do I want them to be Kitana or take her place.
Childish? Yeah, but it's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

Who will die?
Well we got the intro, after seein the names and pics of so many kombatants, is there anyone dead at all ?
Im going with the idea that one of the DA will die, as its inevitable by now that the mummified army of the DK have been reborn, so Id like to see Quan Chi die in the intro, and possibly have Shang Tsung either go into hiding.....or even side with the DK
[As a sidenote, Id love for Shang to transform into that demonic creature Ive seen of him somewhere from MK1?]
Kano will be shown dying, maybe not in the intro, but quite possibly in Konquest, will Sonya be the one? Id like to think so!
Cage will also die, he has to [IMO] he has been played out 2 much and a character who's alt costume resembles James Bond NEEDS 2 see a swift exit once and for all.
We'll no doubt see some deaths in various endings too, so Im going with someones theory [excellent theory btw] that Shujinko will die, possibly in his own ending, because I cant see him dyin in anyone elses ending, he just doesnt seem 2 carry ENOUGH importance to me.
Also dyin will be Noob Saibot I hope, Id like to complete MK:D with him, and to watch his ending, as after his victory over the DK, he is later ambushed by a four armed warrior, whom we cant see properly [but we're obviously led to believe its the 'dead' Goro]
[Sidenote : Its only in Kitana's MK:DA ending that its stated Goro's body is lowered into Molten lava...so therefore, Im kinda praying that the Goro death storyline is opened up abit more, just for the classic fans out there...Maybe Goro DID die, but what happened to the body, where'd it go?? Something like that?]
Li Mei will also die, in her victory over the DK. I cant quite explain this one, but I just feel she will die in honour so to speak, saving herself and her people from further anguish.
I'll post more thoughts later on.
Apologies for the off-topic ramblings guys/gals, wen ur writin and get another idea, sometimes you just gotta type it.
Thoughts anyone?

This probably will go against all the other posts that say Li Mei will die, but I think she will live. I think they are trying ot make her a trademark figure, much like SIndel or Mileena, or even Kitana. The only character I really think that is a waste of space is Bo Rai Cho, he should just die in hell. Who uses their vomit as a special? I'm sure Midway can do much MUCH better.

it's just my opinion, but I think taht scorpion is cooler than ever...
one of edenia will die certainly, probably jade or tanya
li mei might bite the dust as well

If the MKDA Konquest is canon, I believe Mavado have beaten the crap out of Sonya and Jax, and was later killed by Kenshi.
So maybe Sonya and Jax are in some coma, or even dead.
Well, maybe I'm just sayin bullshit, but who knows?

Scorpion can't Die. His Soul is eternal. And if you kill Sub-Zero off then you have basically no classic characters. so what is the point? the only people who should die are these new biutches like kenshi and Li mei who offer nothing to the story but "new" faces. having night wolf, sindel, and kabal back in is cool. out with the new and in with the old.
Everytime Mortal Kombat introduces a new character, some people tend to shit all over it. But guess what? They were all new characters at some point. At least they're making new characters and not relying on the same character roster game after game.
Just imagine, if you will Mortal Kombat II with nothing but the original 7 characters. Mortal Kombat 3 with nothing but the original characters. Now Mortal Kombat 4. And Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance. My GOD, thank you Midway for making new characters!
And besides, death means nothing in Mortal Kombat. Killing someone is a waste of time, 'cos they'll be back in one or two games.

I must admit, it seems kind of absurd to boot out Sonya just because Kitana isn't returning. That's like saying "I can't have my favorite character return, so you shouldn't either!" Damn, this was the same crap people were telling me when Smoke was confirmed. "He shouldn't be back. It's not fair to drop good characters like Cage or Kano and bring back bad characters like Smoke." I hate this train of thought. People want there favorite character to be in every MK, even if there are better characters who have been on a waiting list for ten years.
But don't get me wrong. I don't want either character to return. They've both been in the series for almost every game after MK2. Let's save room for the obscure characters who haven't even had a chance to breathe.

I think I should clarify my earlier post. I'm not saying obscure characters should never get a chance or that the "classics" should be forced into every game. Quite the opposite. If by Kitana not being in Deception means she'll come back for MK7 better than she was before then that's fantastic. If Scorpion missing out on a game or two could improve him, then by all means leave him out. I'm just against the random killing of popular characters, which isn't even necessary.
The problem I have is killing off a character like Kitana will cause an outcry and sure enough, her death would almost certainly be undone. That's not a good thing. Cheap resurrectons are stupid. I said it once before: yes, you can do anything in a fantasy; that doesn't mean you should. All it will accomplish is give the smug, obnoxious Sonya fanboys another reason to brag about how "great" she is. I don't like Sonya and cramming her down my God damn throat won't make me like her.
I'll admit a lot of this comes from the fanboy in me who flares up when one of my favorite characters is threatened. Childish, selfish and petty as that may be, it's how I feel on the situation.
I've got a feeling after this game, Liu will remain dead. Raiden will probably die as well, along with Sonya. I'm guessing if she isn't in this game she will either be in the prison [again! grr >.< ] or die in the intro. She's my favourite, but if she goes out with a bang and stays that way, I'll be okay with it.
Like others, I also have a feeling Tanya and Sindel will die after this game. As for others, either Kenshi or Ermac, because they are too similar. [just my opinion but I love these characters, minus Tanya.] Kano might also die in the intro somehow.
Maybe the intro video will be more in-depth than DA's as well. I'm looking forward to this game, even if characters I like might not be returning, it is time for some new blood. C'mon, it's been around for 12 years now, change isn't a bad thing.

By no means do I blame you. I'm the biggest Smoke fan boy, and I'll be the first to say that it's a travesty for Boon and co. to neglect him for ten years while sneaking Noob Saibot through the back door into every MK game. Noob Saibot is a joke on so many different levels.
I don't think they should kill her(although it's far from impossible), but I think most of the [quote]Popular Characters[/quote] need to get booted until at least MK7. The reason they're popular is because they've been driven up front since UMK3.
But one note about the resurrections. I agree that it isn't healthy for the story to just revive every character like it's a card trick. But... I don't think it's fair to deprive someone of their favorite character(popular or not) because they're dead. Story is important, but not as important as the fans.

He isn't immortal. In MKDA, was on the verge of dying, and in when Scorpion manages to finalize his "mission", if there is no argumental change, Scorpion will rest peacefully and die definitively.

Shujinko - no further point for him after this game. I'm not really liking this character. If I'm going to go through the trouble of something like Konquest I want to be able to name and design my own character. The appeal just isn't there for me.
Sindel - Although she is one of my top favs, she shouldn't stay around too much longer. Having Kitana take over as Queen of Edenia would progress Kitana so much.
Bo' Rai Cho - Anyone going to argue with me here?
Kano - I'm a Kano fan...but he has ran his course. Kano has WAY too many people after him and has been in way too many risky situations, it's about time it all catches up to him.
Cage - He can be killed in the opening video and this time no opening of dimensions will stop his soul from going to the afterlife. Cage just isn't useful anymore. Seriously, how much character depth does an actor trying to prove he can really fight like he does in his movies have?

*X*BloodyEyes-i agree!!! scorpion is better then ever now..maybe even better then his mk 2 self.. which is real hard for me to say.. he should never leave..sorry all u scorpion hater's but i remember hearing in a ed boon interveiw recently, that and i quote "that as long as i am making mk games scorpion and sub-zero will be in them" er something like that, u get me??.. i hope
i think li mei,bo rai cho, baraka, quan chi, cage and sadly jade or tanya will die
but all i know is if they r thinking about killing off kitana they will feel my wrath!!
XiahouDun84- i am soooo in agreement w/ u!!

I loved that idea some one said about Tanya, becoming sorceror, honestly, you may hate mk4, or you may just hate Tanya, BUT you gotta admit she hs an interesting story and i would love it if Tanya finally became the edinia queen and she lures jade to be emperor of edinia, jade accepts and turnes super EVIL, and her and Tanya team up for total domination of Mortal Kombat.
But that will probally never happen, just jade and Tanya as a team....greatness.
Kano should be killed, no need for kano when we have kira
Li Mei should definitly not die, in this game, let her have a reign of terror until mk7 where someone on this forum said she should die to save her people.
Quan Chi should die at the hands of scorpion, just so scorpie could rest but having to return later on in the series cos something happened like some one in his family returns
AND FINALY byebye to poor old Shujinko, lol, havnt played as him or really seen that many screenshots but i love him all cos he looks like pei mei lol, yeh he has no purpose, just looks good, sooooo, cos he looks great, Quan Chi's soul should enter him so we have evil women and an evil old man YAY
