Hmm, its always been tough for me to understand how someone can get sick of the online feature of a game because of A cheeseball or a bit of lag.
Last I checked playing online inferres that there are more than 2 people. Which means there should be a chance to fight someone different. Well, that what they tell me about online play, if I am wrong please let me know.
Lag is adaptable, it does take time to get a feel for the timing especially if you use a finese character. There have been many times in MK:D, and other games, where I look even worse than I am because adapting after playing long strings offline takes getting used to.
A funny thing about the ground pound everyone seems to cry about, and no I never use dairou cept to get his ending, its just a need to go back to the basics move to counter. It can be stopped my the most basic MK move that all characters have, well if the person is a cheeseball, the jump punch. I know it sound bad but try it. If the person is doing the move out of pure lack of skill you can hit them and set a combo before to goes again. Also with timing you can block ranged attack as soon as you hit the ground if needed. However, this of course would never work for someone who actually knows what they are doing.
I normally don't post for issues like this because it pisses me off similar to multiple SU threads. I am in no way a master of MK at all I win some I lose some. I do not disconnect. I don't cheese. I would rather someone get a double flawless on me than allow the game to record a win I did not deserve. Hell, there are even times when I just use a character based on an older MK storyline just to have fun and see if the other person gets the rivalry. Thats just how I am. It is ashame that others have egos the size of china and care more about their records than the commradary MK should have.
Maybe I'm wrong in thinking so but the core MK fans will always be there. I remember playing in arcades, hearing nice game, seeing hand shakes, and people enjoy just the fight. Same when I went to college. I remember multiple people sitting in a tiny dorm room huddled around a 25" tv just for MK. Are these days gone? No, we as MK fans no longer can pick and choose who to fight based on style until until after the fight. I get them it sux, I know but for the chance to fight someone better than you who says nice fight, nice counter, etc makes up for it

I do not have the ps2 version nor do I care about your skill, nor your comments actually. I have played around a 1000 games in my spare time...I am 24, own a pizza place, have a fiance to contend with, a pitbull, a house payment a 2003 cobra payment, a 2003 nissan350z payment, and a 2004 civic payment as a delivery car. I have been a fan of this series since its debut but lost interest after the second installment. This is the first game that really caught my attention again...and you know what is the first time I went back to the internet to learn the game, its moves, and secrets. Really..i am not really bitching about the game...just frusturated with the way online gameplay is starting to turn out. You said it yourself...that if someone uses' bo rai cho's cheap ass combo..u will stand there and quit...flash forward 3 weeks and imagine a lot of people knowing that stupid combo. It would just be another cheap ass way to play a game that is supposed to be fun. Really that is what it comes down to. Fun. Take away from the game what you will, personally I just wanted to have fun playing online with some cool people...and have accomplished that. My record is around 1000 wins with 300 losses. Like you I have taken all challenges and have not disconnected. I am NOT the best or even in the top 100, but I have beaten the best at some point. I just merely stated some observations I have been noticing since my 1000 games began...and quite honestly I do not see it getting any better in the NEAR future. So be it no big deal. Any people in the michigan metro detroit area feel free to drop me an email id like to set up some matches. Hell...come eat some pizza at my shop...im beggin my girl to let me set up an xbox in the office.

Amen to that. I really have no complaints about peoples tactics because it provides a challenge to me to find the way to over come it and then force them to play by my rules. Why complain about poeple who throw you if all you do is block all day, blocking doesn't make you invincible. Why complain about 50/50 mix ups when you can roll back and away from them to set up your counter attack, no one said that you have to sit there after a sweep or an overhead attack. The Dairou and Darrius crap can be thrown out the window. Play aggressive and stay on Dairou, if you let him get far away from you, you will be caught up in his game. I used Dairou and found the command to do the ground pound to be not so quick to pull off effectivley when the player is on you.
Stay on him and he's toast. With Darrius simply watch his pattern and keep him at a distance to avoid the guessing game. Its' basicaly the opposite of the "counter" Dairou strats. Try not to take player tactics to the heart if you believe them to be cheap. The only people I have concerns about are those who insist on making idle threats to kick you ass for real in a physical fight because you constantly whoop their ass in the game. Seriously if you think about it, why anyone would state that they could whip you in a physical fight is beyond my comprehension. You have no idea what that person is capable of as they are an unseen stranger. Oh well thats just my take on the complaints and a complaint of my own

everclearvillan we actually played last nite. I had to stop after the 5th round or my girlfriend was gonna be pissed. You do pull off very nice combos with shujinko.

Actually, there was ONE gam where I did beat MKL. *lol* Granted, im not going to lie and say that I won super victoriously, he had me by like 5 games, to my 1, but I DID get that win. I was under an alternate screen name, and its a damn shame that he retired. I would have loved to play him now that I feel Im in my prime. Oh, well.

It would be nice to play someone who doesn't quit the game when you beat them or if you pick someone they think is cheap...hell 99% of everyone stops playing you after about 2-3 games...where's the fun in that? I'd rather play one person for a couple hours than spend 5 minutes trying to find another person to play every few games...it's so annoying.
I also beat MKL once...only once...and it was to the Falling Cliffs deathtrap...man I hate deathtraps. I turn them off now.

It's wierd...I can do all sorts of combos offline, but when I go online the damn things NEVER connect right...even simple shit like Kenshi's Tai Chi 222b1 combo fucking is blockable lol...oh well. It's all good.
I'm playing Li Mei alot lately, she's fun...but has little options against the big boys of Deception.

Thats what gets me...the hit detection being off...you have to readjust your gameplan because of it.

I'll have to wait till X-mas, but I hate this game so much compared to DA that I may not get it at all. I usually don't get all into the bitching about lag time for moves and stuff, but it is very hard to be an aggressor on this game (well against the computer at least). I get more pissed off playing Deception than ANY game iv'e ever played. You try to attack low, blocked and combo..... attack high, block and combo, if you block high u are immediately thrown, block low and they hit you high.... I wish they rereleased DA for online play. I actually liked playing that game, even against the computer.

Im Tired of you newbs, if some one is using the SAME TRICK then just block that stupid trick. If you cant then you sorry to say that SUCK. Becus you cant findt a way to block or attack it

speak for yourself man... ur the one with 25 visits. Konqrr and I have been coming here for years now and playing MK since 1992. We are just venting a little about the differences between this game and the last one. I haven't even been online yet so I am not complainin about people, just the game differences themselves.

My tactics for getting passed the Skilless Morons who use Dairio, Bo, NightWolf, and even Raiden in most instances is to always make my opponent pick his character first. If they don't pick first then they can sit there and wait a half hour or quit. It doesn't matter to me. If they pick a cheese ball then I switch over to NightWolf whom I've mastered just for the CHZ. Every once and a while I'll lose to Dairio when I'm Nightwolf but usually I can cheese the hell out of them. All I've got to do is knock you down once and your done. I've never lost a NW vs NW fight "Ever!" Everyone else is just easy as hell if I pick Nightwolf. If you don't want to be cheesed then you will not cheese me.

i no, like no one else knows the knockdown with nightwolf, over head kick, low attck 50/50 crap. hell i think i was the first one to use him the day the game came out, and i dont even touch him anymore, cause hes so weak now, so use ya 50/50 crap sholder block lighting bolt. face a real BRC player and he will own ya nightwolf, and yes the game is broken, but i think if it had 2 more things it would be alot better, 1st why is there no way to make ya square invisible like in the old acrade days so they dont no who ya picking and 2nd, if it had sometype of counter move when u roll and get up , like in teken the rush downs wouldnt be as bad, and ya 50/50s would be worthless...
