Of the two, I would definitely prefer Kung Lao. I couldn't say who is more likely to return, if either do...but I can only hope it won't be Liu Kang. Liu Kang needs to stay dead and never come back.

I never liked Liu Kang, but even I thought that the whole "zombie" idea was pretty stupid. He should just die, allow another great warrior to take his place, and start the new generation of MK.

Liu Kang probably, just by the way the series is. Unless Boon is really gonna go big this time and get rid of some of the actual popular characters. I would prefer Kung Lao.

Kung Lao for sure. Hes moves in MK2 were really good, including the Whirlwind Spin hat throw (Low and high) and also hes teleport move was awesome.

I would say neither to return. If I had to pick one to return, it would be Kung Lao. Liu Kang is done!

It'd be so awesome if Kung Lao came back. He's got so much potential. I think that most characters that had special features and abilities were short-lived disgraced in Armageddon. What use is Kung Lao without his hat in his fatality? or Baraka without his blades, Subzero without his freezing powers, etc.

If any characters were to come back besides Sub and Scorp, it should definitely be Kung Lao. He also has hero potential for the story.

Imagine a fighting style only Kung Lao can use, a combination of Shaolin fist and his hat. For example he throws a few punches, swipes with his hat 2 times, and finishes with a thrust kick. Kung Lao is sick. Please bring him back Midway!

Now, Scorpion or Sub-Zero? Who would you prefer to come back?

Shang Tsung, or Quan Chi?

if he lived well so much for bringing as much new to MK8 as the MK team was hoping to

I would say Quan Chi, he seems more interesting than Shang. There's not many directions to go with him.

First off, It's obvious that Quan Chi seems more interesting is because Shang has been in how many games? Not to forget, Quan Chi?

I would say Shang Tsung should return for one last game. He should return in his MKSM or his demonic look. MK 8 could be his last game? But I would like to see Quan Chi return as well. I can just hope!?

Out of Liu Kang and Kung Lao, I'd have to go with Liu Kang. Kung Lao, like it or not, had his chance to take over, and it went bye-bye. Liu Kang should not be the lead protagonist, but I wouldn't mind him being protector of Earthrealm, or being a secret character.

I'd much rather see Sub-Zero return over Scorpion, just because I think the character is more interesting, although I'd like to see them actually fix Scorpion, even though I've never been his biggest fan.

Shang Tsung over Quan Chi, just because I like Shang's image better. Plus, he was the first sorcerer of MK. I'd like to see him make a more devious grab at power, or find himself defending the realms from a greater evil than himself.

This actually pretty funny, because I completely disagree with almost everything. Thank for your opinion though.
