I agree! his moves suck, however his appearance was great! I think he should be reconstructed 100%.

MAvado apperence was kick ass! Especially his alternate outfit. However, I do agree. If he is indeed coming back (*hopes Mavado to be super-duper unlockable*), he needs new moves and fatlities!

Yeah i agree too, his visual was like a really bad guy but his moves sux a lot, my grandma fights better than him =P must be reconstructed 101% \o/

Like many others, i do agree that Mavados appearance was awesome. I loved his alternate costume, and he has the perfect look for a Red Dragon gangster. However, his fatality and special moves were beyond horrible. We're more than likely going to be seeing him in MKD so i hope they give him better moves; fatalities, and then hes set!

BTW, i hope Kabal kicks his ass and slaughters him!

Yes, I am glad that you made this thread. I put this in someone elses thread the other day! Mavado was a great character concept, had a great look, story, name, etc.... but I did not like his moves, special moves, and fatality. He needs a completely new weapon and moveset and then Mavado will do something with the potential he has.

I haven't gotten Mavado's alternate costume yet. I guess I'll have to pick up the game again.

Mavado needs a little work, but I don't think it would be good to give him moves that resemble the cheez that Kano's do.

I got several suggestions about Mavado.

-His alt. should be shirtless that shows a Red Dragon clan tatto on his back.

-He should recruit someone better than Hsu Hao into the Red Dragon preferbly a female.

-His new weapons should be the Twin Hook Spears:


-His fighting styles should reflect his dark and deadly persona instead of being half-assed styles.

-His first outfit should be a trench coat with no sleeves and the color should be blood red with a black logo. He should also have gauntlets on both hands instead of just one and should wear a blood red bandana over his mouth.

-His extend-o-hooks should have a bigger hook.

-Fatalty 1: "Cardiac Arrest"
Ok, so first Mavado should jump and nail himself to floor with his spiked shoes. Then Mavado then throws one of his extend-o-hooks to the opponent's head and the hook clamps on the head. Then Mavado should throw the second E-O-H directly to the opponent's body penetrating it and clamps the heart. Then Mavado pulls both E-O-H at the same time yanking the opponent's head and heart. The heart still beats as it's pulled out of the body. The opponent's body rotates slightly before falling to the ground and twitches. Keep in mind that this fatality should be slighty faster than Kira's so that when ppl see it for the first time, they will
say "Ah no....no he didn't".

-Fatality 2: "5 Section Body Slice"
Mavado pulls out both his Twin Hook Spears and throws one horizantally at the opponent's head the momentum causes Mavado to spin very quickly and this launches his second Hook Spear horizantally to the torso. This slices the head and the torso but the both stay intact then Mavado quickly throws both his E-O-H to catch both Spears while still flying and Mavado then pulls them toward him. This causes the Spears to slice both the opponent's knees and the body tumbles into 5 clean pieces. Mavado then catches the Spears and spins them in a victory pose. Keep in mind that when the Spears slice through the head and torso they just spin very quickly but don't drop and this should be performed very but very fast so that ppl can say "DAAAMMMMMNNNNNNN!!!! Oh he good, he damn good!!!!"

-Hari Kiri: "Honourable But Brutal"
Mavado simply clamps both his E-O-H to his head and pulls, as he pulls he screams in pain and finally pulls his head into two pieces.

Just For Fun -Friendship: "Fluffy"
Mavado looks like he's gonna pull his weapons out but instead pulls out a fluffy and cute red dragon plush toy and hands it to the opponent.

Ok im gonna go off topic for a second. Well I've come to this website since June but me e-mail didn't work wich means I couldn't come online. The good thing is it works and now I can post my opinions. This forum is awesome and most of you guys seem cool to. Anyways Mavado returning. Well I think he looked cool and all but he was to slow in my (opinion),and he wasn't very powerful. I think as long as he gets faster and stronger he has alot of potential because people seem to like him. I personally suck with him lol because I get pissed when the characters are slow. Anyways this is just an opinion and thats all.


Sonya Blade better be in MKD she's a kickass character.

Yeah, that's the thing that annoyed me in MKDA.
Hopefully, if he comes back he'll be upgraded.

I always liked Mavado, even if he was somewhat of an incomplete Kombatant in MK:DA.

There was a very ruthless look and feel to the character.

Done up right, and with a little revamping, he could turn out to be one real badass mother f*cker.

IF Mavado is in MKD (and I don't claim to know), I'll be the happiest person on this board. He's one of my two favourites in the series, and quite a few characters I like seem to be missing this time (for now at least).

Mavado's appearance is very cool, both the outfits. The Mad Max style long coat was my favourite, the armour was nice, but the mask didn't suit him.

I do agree that he needs a couple more special moves though. They should have him do more with the grappling hooks, and maybe use the boot nail things in his moves. Please let him keep the hookswords and long fist styles (don't really use wing chun myself).

So if he comes back, he has to have a better move list and his fatalities better be kool. Plus give him some new weapons, those Twin Hook Spears look good for him.

i loved Mavado, i agree that Longfist doesnt have anywhere near enough combos, but the ones it does have are good, and except for that one kick i thought it was fine....the spinning crane move is awesome, and the circle kick as well, wing chun is okay, especially for that secret move it has, and the hookswords are awesome to use too, overall i think Mavado's moves were no shitter than kenshi's, and in my opinion even better, i'm fuckin wicked with Mavado, and his side switch move IS good, it gives you much advantage when using it at the proper time, alot of people hate Mavado and i dont see why, just because you cant use him well or beat him easily doesnt mean he sucks..(ofcourse i mean either hard or max(mainly)) i can flawless on Quan Chi or ShangTsung or anyone on max with Mavado, his moves dont suck that bad..i can even win with drahmin for christ sake, you just have to be good and master the fighting system to enjoy certain characters sometimes, although i've always liked Mavado, he has awesome moves with the Hookswords especially, wont compare to Kabal's new HS combos but its obvious why, and yes, i hope he comes back with a simillar 2nd costume and maybe even a simillar 1st costume aswell....and DEFINITELY some new creative weapons, get used to it, Mavado is probably going to be a major player since hes allied with QuanChi and enemies with Kabal/Kenshi/Subzero and the Lin quei, think about it, why wouldnt he return, they're all in Deception (except for QuanChi which i hope is as a super unlockable too), it'd make no sense for him to not be in...so i bet he'll be a super unlockable

I think probably the main reason why ppl don't like him is because of his moves. They were bad, he only had a few good ones.

Some people complain that Mavado doesn't have enough offensive moves. Well, that's the whole point of him. Mavado is best as a defensive character, block or avoid the enemy's moves, then hit back with a combo. Long fist is a pretty good style for juggle combos, and he has decent reach for keep away. And that's before we mention the hookswords, best MKDA weapon in my opinion, and can be used very cheaply.

If you want an offensive character, go play Kitana or someone, there's enough offensive ones out there. More special moves for him would be nice, otherwise I like Mavado the way he is. He takes time to learn, but it's worth it. Besides, MK needed some variety in characters gameplay styles, guys like him and Drahmin are good for this.

Mavado was alright. Kind of a plain design though. And he had some of the ugliest looking stances. He definetly needs a makeover, otherwise just leave him out.

I never liked playing as him, but I need to practice him to be good with Dairou (they both have Wing Chun), but Long Fist wasn't that bad. Also, his fatality was better than Quan Chi's! It'd be nice if he had Hsu Hao's Sun Moon blades or Kano's Butterfly Knives. His costumes were great, but he could've used at least a projectile attack.
