I doubt that. Raiden relinquished his position, so he could help the earth warriors.

Yeah Raiden is to smart to be make an alliance with the DK. I could see something similar to that happening with other characters and the DK but not Raiden.

No way. Raiden knows the legends of the Dragon King, and lists him as one of the possible new threats to Earth. He specifically relinquished his status as Elder God because he failed to convince the others to act against the Deadly Alliance and their plan to ressurect the Dragon King's army (those apathetic bastards) and decided to defy Heaven to help his friends of Earth. If he didn't want Shang and Quan from reviving the DK's army, I highly doubt he'd want the DK himself coming back.

Besides, if Raiden did want to regain his title of Elder God, why not, after helping defeating the DK, go up to Heaven and start kicking some Elder God ass? They've already shown how much they really care about Earth these past MK games, so why would Raiden need the DK's help to convince them to give him back his status when he could just go up there and take it back from them after the war against the DK?

I agree...also, why would Raiden even want the position of Elder God? Raiden perfers to aid his mortal friends and be in the thick of it so to speak. From what I've seen, all the Elder Gods do is make up rules, watch what goes on, and then do nothing when the rules are broken or the mortal realms are in danger. Whether their lack of action is because of preference, politics, or lack of power I have no idea.

i feel people are looking too much into the whole idea of Deception, true there's likely to be surprizes in this MK but some of the extremes people are going to eg. this thread i think are going a bit too far, it's a good idea don't get me wrong but it is as close to impossible as it can get, current rumours about liu kang becoming evil because he is being controlled seem more logical, especially the idea of him being a zombie.

Agreed. I think the deception will be liu kang joining with the dragon king.

It won't happen! Raiden doesn't really want the position of Elder God. He's abandoned it several times to help out the mortals of Earth. The Elder Gods refusing to give him the position would be more of a blessing for him as he could just continue helping Earths mortals.
