While MK:D will be great.. IMHO it should not be game of the year.

Personally, I think so. I mean, this game will practically raise the bar of what is expected of a fighting game. Completely interactive arenas, at least 24 characters, chess and puzzle combat, all three modes online, konquest adventure (which looks awesome) and a tweaked graphics and fighting engine (it doesnt need much tweaking IMO. I like DA's fighting engine). This gam,e will be freaking awesome and will be in my PS2 for months. Plus, that Premium pack is not a bad deal at all.

Well it will be a lot more fun than San Andreas..... IMHO.

We've also got Metroid Prime 2 coming out. I don't think MK:D stands a chance against Metroid, which in my opinion is superior to even Halo.
The only thing that MP was missing was Multiplayer, and MP2 will fix that.

Mortal Kombat is way better and funner than Tekken.....i think deception will beat tekken 5

Doubt it, although i haven't played it. BTW Tekken 5 isn't out until next year on console.

I think you should start talking about game of the year after you actually play the game.

Although I'm sure I'll enjoy MKD slightly more, it being MK, GTA: SA is looking simply psychotic. With all the details that have been revealed so far, and the sheer size of the game, it looks like the one to beat this year.

If someone can be that senseless to name a game "Game of the Year" before it comes out it only shows their judgment is completely clouded. For example, look at everyone who previewed Halo before it came out. They said it was the greatest game ever. Halo was just a good fps. Nothing great, just a innovative fps. How come these magazines didn't say Jesus would love Halo when it was going to be mac exclusive? One simple word comes to mind.

Halo 2 and Half-life 2 buddy.I love MK but as far as game of the year...it has some hardcore competition.

i played DJNY last week & i beat it in 12 hours
It was a awesome game & all the sites gave it a high rating
Now we should just wait & see what MKD does

Fighting Game of The Year is MKD's property already.
MKD is a major contender for GOTY but it's going up against Halo 2, GTA-SA, KOTOR II, Half-Life 2, and Fable.

i reckon FABLE is gonna be game of the year, thats gona be amazin from what ive seen, but MK deception is still gone be great

I personally found Fable to be lame. Normally I like a decent RPG that has some pickup and go playablity but it deffinately was not the game it was made out to be. You can't attack anyone in Fable, thats shitty. And the ending for good guys is deffinately a big disappointment.
