Kahn should definitely come back cause he is, was, and always will be the best villian in MK history. I wrote this before, him coming back would do well with the story line as well. He would want to reclaim the lost realms; beat the s#@t out of the dragon king, and then go after the true prize... earth realm.

No, because, MK needs newer bosses, better, and cooler. Kahn ain't the only bad guy. The only way I would want him back, is if someone's bio had him in it, and you got to fight with him.

Worng! Kahn is not dead. Midway hinted that we haven't seen the last of him. we won't be seeing him as boss or playable character. So whether we see him as a secret character or not in the games at all it will always be nice to know that he lives. Besides The intro does give ya an idea when they show the sorcerers rush up to him and later show the skull mask and Blood stains. That's all they show. So that means something. Kahn RULES!!!!!

I don't know if he's dead or not... We've seen like ten dead characters return, like Kano. Something I don't understand but that's the way it is....
Anyway, Shao Khan has remained as the best boss in the MK history, and one of the best characters ever made in MK. I don't think he should be a boss once again because things have to evolve, but I would definately love to see him as something else in future games, for example a hidden character or something...

Ok, so you're telling me that Quan Chi and Shang Tsung just left him there to die instead of stealing his soul? That Reptile is do dumb that when he arrived to the emperor's palace and saw Kahn lying there he didn't see if he was dead or not? That Kano didn't see it either?

I don't think that pulling a Johnny Cage for Shao Kahn would work real well. From what we have seen, Shao Kahn is dead. I would prefer him to stay that way. Bring on the Dragon King. I am ready for that.

Zentile was referring to Shang Tsung about stealing Kahn's soul, not Quan Chi.

I think that Kahn is dead but he'll come back in a different way...perhaps in another form or something like that.

First of all, Reptile is devolving. His intelligence is not what it used to be, nor is his common sense or reasoning. And with Kano, the Deadly Alliance proved their combined strength to be stronger than Kahn's, and Kano will always ally with the side he expects to win. Loyalty is a word he doesn't know. And as others have said, Kahn may not have a soul, or it may be too strong for Shang Tsung to take.

ok im not starting another kahn/reiko thing but ppl in other posts were saying that mabye reiko is kahns double, like wut they did in star wars 1 with the queen, and mabye they killed reiko, not kahn, ya think that could happen?

Kahn was a VERY COOL EVIL BAD GUY...a great character concept, look, powers, story, etc....BUT IT HAS TO BE OVER FOR HIM!

I mean, we had a LOT of him already, Mk2, Mk3, Mk3U, MkTrilogy AND even a little in MKDA.

I really hope he is dead. Besides, the "Dragon King" sounds mUCH MUCH cooler, much darker, evil...Its time for a new ultimate boss to come and kick some ass with evil darkness.

Take hints from Midway with a grain of salt. More often than not companies hint at possible things like this to stir up excitement and build up anticipation for the next game. We all know that Mr. Boon likes to do things like this...

As for the topic... No, Shao Kahn is done. Time for someone new and obvious like the Dragon King.

From the most recent Fight Night transcript (find it on the mk5.org irc network page):

"[22:37] Bear in mind that Shao Khan is a hugely powerful entity. He may not be out for the count yet. We'll need to see."

In other words, they will need to see , and just ignore the fact that he spelt it wrong too...

Midway hinted alot of things, and infact even confirmed body damage for MKDA( besides the face, I remember them talking about clothing being ripped off, etc) and like others have said, it's probably just a hint to create dumb rumours.
Shang Tsung and Quan Chi aren't retards. Nor is Reptile, dispite his devolution. Obviously they were sure Kahn was dead.
And if somehow Kahn returns, by doing something like having a soul cage prepared to take his soul so he wouldn't really die, that will be retarded.

Definitely bring back Shao Kahn. They could probably find some way to squeeze him into the storyline. If Shang Tsung killed Kahn and stole his soul, maybe he could bring him back all zombified and Kahn could be the big slow semiboss, like Goro, Kintaro, Motaro and Moloch. It would be awesome to see Kahn all sluggish and maybe skeletal - like Drahmin but hopefully nothing like Drahmin (Kahn shouldnt suck). Also if they took out his laughing and taunting I wouldnt feel bad when he beat me. Nothing is worse than a bad winner. I'm still traumatized by him...pointing, telling me that I'm weak...
